That was what was displayed on the computer readout Commander Andrew Sterling and his away
team from the U.S.S. Maverick discovered aboard the Sussex after having made a routine stellar
scan of the sector.
Launched from Earth in 2047, the S.S. Sussex, designation OV-124, was the first manned ship
from Earth presumed lost in space, along with its' only occupant, Lieutenant Scott Morgan. His
ongoing mission was exploration of the Sol system, starting with Proxima Centauri. His hope was
to encounter other lifeforms, if any were to be found.
Born and raised on twenty-six acres of farmland outside of a small Albertan town called Falher,
Scott Morgan had the distention of being the first Canadian with a physical disability to be sent into
space, and was put in suspended animation before the Sussex was launched. Somehow, the
shuttle had been experiencing navigational difficulties, and in effect, thrown off course by an
unexplained and unknown time-flow distortion phenomenon.
Many amazing revelations were awaiting the young Lieutenant-Commander. One of which was
being greeted by Amani Tha'al, an Imarian and captain of the Maverick. Amani
helped the young lieutenant catch up on over three hundred and fifty years of Earth's history. From
world war III that ended in a post atomic disaster in 2053 to Zefram Cochrane's first contact with the
Vulcans in 2063 after they had detected a warp signature that had originated from Earth's solar
system, to the four-year war between Earth Forces and the Romulan Star Empire.
In 2096, the S.S. Orion was sent to find out what happened to the Sussex and to continue the
mission that had been started. After a ten-year journey of scientific and exploratory endeavors, the
crew of the Orion arrived and made contact with The Imarians, fifty-five years prior to the
incorporation of the United Federation of Planets.
through the passing of time, the Federation became an alliance of several planetary governments
and colonies, united through mutual trade, cultural, diplomatic, defensive, exploration and scientific
purposes. Despite the union of a hundred or so planets that formed the Federation, there were
some confrontations the Federation was to endure, most notably against the Klingons, on more
than one occasion, the Cardassians during the border wars and the Borg attack on sector 001 at
Wolf 359.
With open arms, the people of Imara Prime welcomed Lieutenant Morgan into their society, their
culture and a world of new discoveries, whatever they may be.
While living aboard the Maverick, Scott learned what it was to be a Starfleet officer and read
Starfleet's various charts and departments. It took him a considerable amount of time to grasp and
process all of the information and knowledge that he had to learn, however, time was certainly what
he had the most of. He took the time to visit Imara and get to know the Imarians and their culture.
Several months later, he had made it known that he wanted to adopt Imara as his home planet. And
so, with a ruling from the Imarian prevailing courts, Scott Morgan officially became the first Imarian-
Terran. The courts thought it wise and felt it necessary for Scott to keep his identity as a Terran so to
not completely detach himself from his roots.
When he was not planet bound, he was with Liahni, traveling though space aboard the Maverick.
Scott was able to retain his rank of Lieutenant and given the opportunity to attend Starfleet Academy
through subspace communications while still serving aboard the Excalibur-class ship and was at
one point, given temporary command...
