Harry, Zayn, and Arlo made their way to the local gymnastics center. Arlo was practically bouncing with excitement, his little legs moving faster than usual as they approached the entrance.
He had been talking about gymnastics non-stop since the previous attempt, and now that they had all the required documents, nothing was stopping him from joining.
Harry carried a neatly organized folder containing Arlo's shot records, birth certificate, and the necessary forms. He handed the folder to Zayn with a smile. "This one's on you, babe. You've got all the paperwork."
Zayn took the folder, "Thanks, Harry. you know how much this means to me."Harry squeezed his hand. "You're his dad. It's only right."
As they entered the gymnastics center, the familiar scent of rubber mats and the sound of children laughing and playing filled the air. The receptionist, a kind-faced woman named Lisa, recognized them immediately.
"Welcome back! Ready to get Arlo signed up?" she asked with a warm smile."Absolutely," Zayn replied, handing over the folder. "We've got everything you need."
Lisa took the folder and began reviewing the documents. As she did, Arlo clung to Zayn's leg, his pleading eyes peering towards Zayn. Arlo took a look back as he watched the other kids practicing flips and jumps.
"Baba, flip?" Arlo asked.
"Just a minute, buddy," Zayn said, ruffling his hair. "We need to finish the paperwork first."Harry stood back, watching proudly as Zayn handled the registration process.
It was a small gesture, but letting Zayn take the lead on this important task meant a lot to both of them. It was a way for Zayn to feel even more connected and responsible as Arlo's father.
Lisa finished checking the documents and handed Zayn a pen. "Just need you to sign here, and we'll be all set."
Zayn looked at the form which asked for a parent/guardian signature. He signed the forms with an adornment, his heart swelling with pride. He handed the papers back to Lisa, who smiled and stamped them with a finality that felt almost ceremonial.
"All done! Arlo, you're officially signed up for gymnastics," Lisa announced.
Arlo let out a cheer and jumped up and down. "Nastics, Daddy!" he said running over to Harry.Zayn came behind him and picked him up and gave him a big hug. "You ganna do all the flips?" Arlo shook his head yes." The doors opened up and now Arlo can meet with the other children. Harry whispered to him, "Now go have fun bub!"
.
As Arlo joined the other children, Harry and Zayn found a spot in the viewing area where they could watch. The gym was bustling with activity—kids of all ages were tumbling, balancing, and swinging on the apparatuses. Arlo's group started with some basic stretches and warm-ups, and it was clear he was having the time of his life.
"Look at him go," Harry said, his eyes shining with pride. "He's really enjoying himself."Zayn nodded, his gaze fixed on Arlo. "He's a natural."
They watched as Arlo tried out different activities, his enthusiasm never waning.
He attempted somersaults, jumped on the trampoline, and balanced on the low beam. When it came time for the bars, Arlo looked longingly at the older kids who were swinging effortlessly.Arlo ran over to them during a short break, his face flushed with excitement. "Baba, Daddy, I swing?"
