We had set just before lunch and were back to London at 6pm. We had dinner on the road and I dropped Kyra off at Sarah's.
Alessia was getting her flight home that night so by the time I got in she was on her flight. Her text message ran through my head over and over.
She had told her family about us. We didn't even really know what us was. It gave me butterflies to think about it. I walked through the front door. Everything exactly how I left it from the week before. Mugs and bowl sitting up at the sink. Still ignoring them, I dumped my bag on the floor and slumped on the couch. The place was quiet. After spending the full week at my family's with Kyra by my side the full time it was now too quiet.I unlock my phone. It was 7:30. Alessia was due to land in an hour. I was excited to see her but by the time she landed and got a taxi back to her parents she'd probably stay there for the night and I'd have to wait till training to see her. Even if just for 10 minutes. That's what I told myself as I started putting on fresh clothes and brushing my hair. Even just for a quick hug.
I ran out to my car and started making my way to the airport. I made a stop to the shops in the way and picked up a small bouquet of flowers. By the time I stopped and parked my car, their flight was landing. I ran in to the arrivals section. Every time the automatic doors opened and new people walked out my heart would begin to pound. I was on my tip toes trying to see over the crowd. Looking for a hint of blond.
Then I saw her. She was basically dragging along her luggage. Her eyes looked tired. As she scanned where she walked her eyes eventually fell on mine. It was like when I first saw her. My stomach was flipping. Her ocean blue eyes widened and then her smile widened making her eyes close up again. She threw her bag at her brother and ran over to me. Without any hesitation she leapt into my arms. I held her tight, as tight as I could, showing her how much I missed her. She reciprocated.
"What are you doing here? How long have you been waiting? Did you not just drive home from Durham? Where's Kyra". She asked all in the one breath.
"Alessia, breathe!" I say smiling pulling back looking in her eyes.
She smiled back her eyes jumping from my eyes to my lips and she leaned in for a kiss.It was as if nothing and no one existed around us. Everything blurred, All noise muffled. It was only me and the girl in front of me.
After a few moments in our own bubble I heard a soft spoken voice.
"Well Cmon Less, are you gona introduce us or leave us standing here like plumbs". A man, who was Alessia's double but a couple years older was stood smiling. He had his phone out and began walking towards us.
"Oh haha yeah" Alessia chuckled and turned a soft shade of red.
"Mol, this is your biggest fan, Gio".
"Molly it's so good to finally meet you" Giorgio says with a massive grin on his face, leaning in with his arms out wide.
"I'm a big fan. You and Less have been unreal together since joining Arsenal. I watch all your games".
I match his energy and meet his cuddle.
"Lovely to meet you, Alessia's told me all about you" I smile.
"And this is my mum and dad" Alessia says gesturing me towards her parents who are also stood with smiles on their face. They take a step towards me and one at a time give me a cuddle.
"So What are you doing here" Alessia asked turning to me laughing.
"Well I thought I could save you all a taxi fare." I say getting a soft laugh out of the group.
I leaned in to Alessia as they all begin to pick their bags back, "and I may have missed you and didn't want to wait another day to see you". Her face flushed again, she looked down bashful smiling. I handed her the bunch of flowers.
She pouted and I could see her eyes wheal up with tears.I took Alessia's bag off of Giorgio and I lead the way towards my car. I got all their bags into my boot, just.
Alessia sat in the back between her dad and Gio, then her mums sat in the front beside me. As I took off I caught a glimpse of Alessia in the back seat looking at her flowers. A smile crept on my face as I turned my face away back to the road. We all swapped Christmas stories. I told them all about Kyra. With half the stories Alessia's Mum would tap my arm while laughing. And at the end of the drive they invited me in for a cup of tea. Alessia's dad had his Facebook open and showing me funny childhood pictures of Alessia and her brothers. I could see both Alessia and Gios cheeks flush pink as I giggled away at all the different stories. They made me feel so comfortable.
"Lessi, why not take Molly on a tour". Her mum said sensing her husband was pushing the embarrassment limit.
"Cmon" she said laughing. They were quiet as we left and then we could hear the murmurs start as we left the room."And finally the star of the show... my bedroom". She said swinging the door open to a pretty big bed room. It was very neat and tidy. Alessia flopped on her bed. My eyes wandered the room taking everything in.
"God you had taste growing up." I say. My eyes landed on her dressing table. There was a TONNE of pictures stuck all around. I go for a closer look. She jumps up behind me.
"Nosey much". She says laughing and squeezing my hips.
"I pointed to her collage of photos from America and high school. She pointed out all her friends and told me funny stories from the pictures.
A knock came from the outside of her room.
"Come in" Alessia called.
"Sorry girls" her mum said poking her head around the door. "I was just wondering if you two were staying the night?" She asked.
"Oh no mum, we actually better get heading". Alessia said and we both stood up straight. We said good bye to them all.
"Don't be stranger Molly, you're welcome round any time" her mum said giving me a hug.In the car as we drove home Alessia reached across and held my hand.
"Thank you for getting us. I think it's safe to say they all love you." She says drawing circles on my palm with her other hand.
"Yeah they're a good bunch" I smile. "I see where you get it from".We leave my car at mine but we walk down to Alessia's. She puts her flowers in a vase and leaves them on her table.
"So... do you fancy staying here tonight?" She asks fiddling with the flowers not making eye contact.
"Oh I don't know" I begin. "I was actually thinking about staying at my other girlfriends" I say smiling then my face falls flat realising what I've just said.
She begins to laugh. "Girlfriend?!"
I quickly try to fix what I've said. "No I didn't mean girlfriend, I just meant staying at someone else who I'm seeing but that was easier...""Are you going to stay here with your girlfriend tonight or are you going to go off with another girl that you're seeing?" She asks wrapping her arms around my neck. I hold her waist. Her lips curled into a smile.
"I think I'll stay here with my girlfriend" I say softly.
She throws her head back and her smile just gets bigger. Her hands cup my face as we kiss. It's gentle and sweet.
"Cmon" she says taking my hand and leading me to her room.It doesn't take us long to be ready for bed. Once in, I wrap my arm around Alessia. Her phone pings.
"Aw look" she says point her screen towards me.She watches me as I read it over and over again. I beam at her and she beams right back. We lie for 10 minutes before going to sleep and I swear I saw her open the chat and re read the message at least 5 times.
