After school had gotten let out I came home to find mom in the garage working on the bike Blasting Free Bird by Lynyrd Skynyrd.
"Hey honey, how was school?"
She asked as I unslung my bag.

"It was okay, aced a random History test that everyone had gotten."
Mom pulled me close and gave me a kiss on the forehead.

"That's my boy! Now, think you can manage the wiring on the tail lights?"
She asked as I have a "really" kind of look.

"You should know by now mother that I have acquired such skills at the ripe age of five years old. Pretty sure I can handle the tail lights and then some."
She then gestured towards the boxes containing them, sitting on the shelf against the far wall of the garage.

"Then please, get to it hot shot."
She said with a wide smile.
"When this bad bitch is done she's going to be turning every head as she zooms down the street and so loud that she wakes the dead!"

"Turn it up Mom haha!"
I said as I started to tap my foot and nod my head to the beat of the song.

Then when we started rocking out we had spent nearly several hours on the garage together working on the Fatboy. Which is something that hasn't happened for quite some time. Mom finished putting the engine together as I wired up the tail lights as well as the headlight itself. We still needed to paint the gas tank along with the front and rear fenders. Other than that all that was needed was to put the tires on her and she was good to go.

"Have you come up with a name for her yet?"
Mom asked as she took a sip of her jack and coke.

"I've been having a bit of trouble in that area. I know that she's going to be everything you said she was going to be but I haven't been able to come up with anything that will suit her."
Mom nodded in understanding as she shook her finger towards me.

"I get it, but try not to worry to much Dante.  She'll have a name by the time she's done."
Just then the door bell rang, causing Mom and I to perk up.
"Looks like the pizza is here."

"I'll get it!"
I said as I grabbed the money from her and hurried towards the door. After I opened the door I handed the delivery guy the money.
"Keep the change."
The guy tipped his hat as I closed the door.

After that Mom and I had partied in celebration of her "beating" cancer. We played video games, watched some Fairy Tail, and then we fired up the fire pit out back and burned the cancer treatment brochures that she had gotten at the hospital.
"I'm sure those are all FDA approved."
I muttered.

"Chechnya, isn't that where you go to get cancer?!"
Mom exclaimed before throwing it on the pile.
"Mexico City huh? How do you even say cancer in Spanish?"

"El Cancer."
I replied as mom chuckled.

"Pfft, of course haha!"
Another another got thrown on the pile.

"Berlin, London, Jacksonville..."
Mom went down the list as I held up a finger.

"I hear that they have a pretty damn good TGI Fridays."
I said.

Mom looked over her shoulder at me as she aimlessly tossed another brochure.
"Then I guess we'll just have to go there one of these days."

"Yeah, I guess we will."
I smiled.

The next few weeks that followed were some of the best times that we had ever had. Mack had even swung by with the other guys from the shop to congratulate her on her recovery.
"Damn Damien, when was the last time I saw you?"
