From Dawn, to Dusk;;

I awoke in the morning, with sun rays slowly creeping their way through my window.

I wiped my eyes and yawned, while sitting up and quickly putting on my large, and ugly round glasses.

I then looked around.

Why is the house so quiet?  I had thought.

I quickly stood up from my bed, and opened my door. And yet, I still couldn't hear a sound.

Normally I would at least hear my brothers screaming at each other, or pulling pranks.

I walked down the hall, then headed down stairs.

I should look for a maid, they might know where everyone is.

All of a sudden, right after I had thought that, a distraught maid came nearly running up the stairs with something spilled all over her apron.

"Are you alright?" I asked in my quiet voice.

She paused, obviously not noticing me.

"Ah! Mistress Jupiter!," she said with a bow. "I was just about to go change. Was there something you needed?" She asked without even bothering to look me in the eye as she spoke.

"I was wondering where my family was?" I asked with a slight nod.

"Oh, the king is out at a meeting with one of the neighbouring kingdoms, while the queen is out with Duchess Veronica,"

I hate Veronica.

"The boys are downstairs!" She said while beginning to run up the stairs again.

I sighed while walking down the rest of the steps, then I turned towards the kitchen.
That's when I saw both my brothers snickering while both flippimg a bottle of red ink.

"Lapis, Keluka, did you ruin the maids apron?" I asked them with a frown as I sat down at the table, picking some grapes from a bowl.

They smirked devilishly at me while Lapis began to reply.

"Psh, she fell right into it! That maid as always been way too clumsy." He said while beginning to laugh.

I glared at them both and continued to eat grapes as their laughter died down.

"Hey... Jupiter. You know mom is out with her again, right?" Keluka said, immediately sounding quite serious.

I sighed angrily.

"Yes... I know. The maid told me." I said while rolling my eyes.

Me and my brothers all hate Veronica equally. About seven years ago, I was around twelve years old, and my brothers were eight. Veronica had babysat us whenever my parents were gone, because they trusted her more than our maids and butlers. Veronica always acted kind towards my mother, but was an honest bitch towards us. That blasted sard would punish us when we did something she didn't like. And her punishment levels went from taking away our toys to hitting us.

She's a terrible person. And she disgusts me.

Lapis clicked his tongue. "I don't understand why mom likes her so much. That little bitch will be pissing herself when we get the throne and hold her execution!" He shouted while slamming his fist on the table.

I flinched slightly as a saddened look crept upon my face.

When they get to be kings...

Lapis then looked at me and frowned as if he realized what he said. He then tried to get off topic by chatting with Keluka as I had lost my appetite.
