Despite the initial promise of love and joy, Kagome and Sesshomaru's relationship had fallen into a disheartening pattern. Kagome's cycle of longing, betrayal, and reconciliation had become unbearable. For months, Sesshomaru would vanish without warning, leaving Kagome alone to endure the pain of abandonment. As the days turned into weeks and weeks turned into months, Kagome clung to the hope that Sesshomaru's return would bring genuine change. However, her heart shattered repeatedly as she forgave him, only to be left alone once again.
Kagome's emotional strength waned with each passing cycle. The once vibrant and independent woman began to wilt under the weight of Sesshomaru's unreliability. She questioned her worth and wondered if she was destined to be treated as an afterthought. The endless heartbreak took a toll on Kagome's spirit, leaving her isolated and alone.
In a moment of clarity, Kagome realized that she deserved better. She no longer wished to endure the emotional turmoil that came with Sesshomaru's absences and empty promises. With newfound determination, she resolved to end the cycle once and for all. Gathering her belongings, Kagome bid farewell to the life she had built with Sesshomaru.
Tears streamed down her face as she stepped away from the home they once shared. The memories of their shared moments flickered through her mind like a bittersweet montage. Yet, Kagome knew that leaving was the only way to heal and find peace. As she walked away, she vowed never to look back, determined to create a future free from the pain and disappointment of the past.
Kagome stood before the well, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. Her heart ached with a profound longing that threatened to consume her. Yet, in that moment of vulnerability, a shadow flitted across the edge of her vision, unnoticed at first.
Suddenly, a voice cut through the stillness, causing Kagome's head to whip around. "Miko, where do you think you are going?"
Sesshomaru emerged from the shadows, his golden eyes piercing through the darkness. His regal presence commanded attention, and Kagome felt conflicting emotions wash over her.
"I'm leaving, Sesshomaru," Kagome uttered, her voice trembling. "I cannot tolerate your absence any longer. Why must I wait for someone who won't tell me where he is? Goodbye."
With a huff of frustration, Kagome turned and began to walk towards the well. But before she could take another step, Sesshomaru was in front of her, blocking her path.
"Move. Now," she commanded.
Kagome's eyes narrowed in defiance. "Tell me before I lose it. Why are you leaving me alone for months without a word?" she demanded.
Silence answered her question, and Kagome's frustration grew. She tried to push past Sesshomaru, but he gently stopped her.
"Look," he said, holding out a small bead. Kagome took it hesitantly, and the bead began to glow as her fingers closed around it. Suddenly, it transformed into a large mirror, floating in the air between them.
Kagome's heart skipped a beat as she looked into the mirror. It showed a fierce battle between Sesshomaru and a powerful demon named Kirinmaru. Kagome watched in horror as Kirinmaru gained the upper hand, landing a fatal blow that sent Sesshomaru crumpled.
"If this is true, then you're..." Kagome's voice trailed off, her knees buckling beneath her. A single tear rolled down her cheek as she whispered, "Dead."
Sesshomaru nodded solemnly, his eyes holding a mix of sorrow and acceptance. Then, as if made of smoke, he began to disintegrate into tiny particles, swirling and dancing before disappearing completely.
Kagome's eyes shot open, her heart pounding in her chest. She looked to her left and saw Sesshomaru sleeping peacefully. Relief washed over her as she realized it had all been a nightmare.
