hello my dear Harry Potter fans, as you can see, this is a fanfiction, and in order not to confuse you, i will explain the AU in this chapter.
first of all, Harry's parents were killed by voldemort, he survived, got the scar, and was left at the Dursleys' doorstep, just like in the book.
Dudley is 7 months older than Harry. Harry's born on July 31 and Dudley on January 13. (i kept Harry's birthday the same and changed Dudley's, they were both born on the same year.)
Harry is a pure-blood (dunno why but i just wanted him to be), both his parents are purebloods. now you might ask, if he's a pure-blood, and James and Lily are too, than that would make petunia a witch too, i'm fully aware, the thing in this story is, petunia IS a witch but doesn't want to be because she thinks they're evil, so she somehow un-witched herself and married a muggle, AKA vernon.
Dudley is also a wizard, A half-blood since his father is a muggle (is that how it works? i dunno.)
the Potters were quiet close with the Malfoys, that's why Narcissa and Bellatrix were chosen to be Harry's godmothers.
Dudley had taken a liking to Harry since he was left with them, they grew up to be very close, even if vernon and petunia didn't like it. whenever the two would Hurt harry (physically or emotionally), Dudley is always there to help his little cousin.
they both go to Hogwarts when they turn 11 (of course), vernon and petunia weren't very pleased but said nothing because they were scared someone might harm them (that someone being Hagrid).
