John entered the Grill and headed straight for the bar.
"Hey. Can I get a cold beer and some fries?" John asked, leaning his head on the table.
"Sure. You okay?" The bartender asked as he gave John his beer.
"No, Cas. I'm not." John stated before taking a chug of his beer.
Not long after John got his food, Pearl, a tomb vampire, approached him.
"Hello, Mr. Gilbert." Pearl greeted, not noticing John roll his eyes.
"Pearl. What an unexpected surprise. I must admit, I'm surprised that you came." John snarked.
"Jenna tells me that you wanted to discuss the sale of the building in person." Pearl replied, simply.
"Still, revealing yourself to me like this, it took quite a risk." John retorted, as he took a fry and ate it.
"I'm not stupid, Mr. Gilbert. You knew who I was when you requested the meeting. So, Damon tells me that you're looking for the device I took from Johnathan. I'm sure you realize I have no intention of giving it to you." Pearl replied coldly.
"That's why I wanted to meet you. I'm planning on changing your mind." John smiled.
"Really? How so?" Pearl asked, her tone patronising.
"Logic. And your double standards. If I give you the building, that was once upon a time, your legacy, you can give me the device, considering it is my family's legacy." John explained concisely.
"That building was mine. And the device is also mine." Pearl retorted angrily.
"Expect the device isn't. You stole it from Johnathan." John pressed.
"Johnathan betrayed me. So I stole from him in retaliation." Pearl sneered.
"Do you even care why?!" John asked, exasperated.
"It doesn't matter." Pearl retorted.
"Of course, it matters!" John's voice rose as he continued. "You killed his little sister! And then tried to manipulate him into thinking it was his own fault!"
John soon left, but not without a final glare at Pearl. As he exited the Grill, he bumped into a light-brunette, who had just entered the Grill. The woman had been looking over her shoulder like she was expecting someone to be behind her with her heart racing with adrenaline.
"Shit. Sorry... Um... Andie, was it?" John apologised before quickly heading out, not noticing Andie's wide eyes.
Back at the Gilbert's house, Jeremy and Anna were lying on Jeremy's bed, Anna's head on Jeremy's chest.
"So, your mother was in love with Johnathan Gilbert, and he betrayed her?" Jeremy asked.
"Yup." Anna replied.
"And now my uncle John wants this invention-device thing that she gave to Damon." Jeremy continued.
"That's pretty much it." Anna replied.
"But Uncle John does things for a reason. Not exactly the right reason but he's logical." Jeremy stated, looking at Anna bemused.
"Jeremy. He's trying to kill me and my mum." Anna pleaded. John scared her. The hairs on the back of her neck stood tall every time he was near and Anna felt the urge to run at his name. Anna rested her forehead on Jeremy as she leaned in for a kiss.
"Anna..." The sound of his phone ringing cut off Jeremy.
Ava ♥😉😎Calling
This was not his usual ringtone and Jeremy leapt out of bed to grab his phone.
"Jeremy?" Anna asked as she stood up too.
"Sorry, Anna but this is really important." Jeremy replied. Anna looked down at the contact on his phone and sneered. Who the fuck was Ava? And what the hell could she want right now?
"I'm your girlfriend. This... 'Ava' isn't important right now." Anna stated, moving closer to Jeremy.
"Anna. I know when it's important. And Ava means the world to me. She's everything." Jeremy explained, taking steps back as he noticed the look on Anna's face.
"Jeremy..." Anna pleaded.
"I think you should go," Jeremy stated as he watched black veins grow under her red eyes and her fangs protruding from her lips. Anna sneered before speeding out of the house.
