Chapter 7 (Friends?)

Pooh's pov

Next day in class I spotted Michael sitting and talking to topten. I furiously approached and slapped the back of his head

"Ouch...why did you hit me?!" He winced

"You tell me and let me give you a hint it's something stupid you planned"

"What?... did your date not go well?"

"It did go well except the fact that you set me up with a Playboy"

"A Playboy!?... what do you mean?" He asked surprised

"He told me that he thought this date was just a one night thing and doesn't want anything serious"

"I... I didn't really do my research on him... I just saw you checking him out at the club and set you up" he said guiltily

"I knew it.... just because a glanced at him doesn't mean I'm interested in him"

"Glanced? You were practically drooling over him"

"No... I wasn't" I'm pretty sure I was but I'm not going to admit it obviously

"Whatever.... but I'm sorry na, I was serious this time it wasn't some stupid plan I promise" he apologized shaking my arm

"Ok-ok I forgive you"

"You're the best" he said and turned back to his conversation with topten as I took a seat behind them, the professor came in and announced that there was going to be a new student joining the class. As I looked up at the new student my eyes widened

"This is Pavel and he is going to joining our class this semester"

The professor announced. Shit my fate was really playing with me and as luck would have it Benz was absent that day so the seat beside me was vacant so the professor made him sit beside me and also asked me to help him with the work he missed out on since I was the best student of the class

I did remember him saying that he was going to change his university but I didn't know he was joining my university and looking at him he looked just as surprised but didn't say anything

He sat down beside me as the class began

Soon enough the class ended and as I tried to leave he held my hand and spoke up

"The professor asked you to help me with the notes I missed out on" he said as if nothing had happened between us during the weekend I guess we are pretending it never happened, it's probably the best for both of us so it wouldn't be awkward

"I... you can give me your line Id I'll send you the notes"

"Ok... sounds good" he said and gave me his line

"And here have my number aswell if you have any questions feel free to call me" I said giving him a smile

"Thanks...I will" he said smiling as I turned to leave my phone suddenly rang it was an unknown number, I picked it up and put it up to my ear and heard Pavel's voice saying hello. I turned around and saw him smiling

"That's my phone number save it" he said and I nodded. I was about to leave when a thought crossed my mind

"Do you want to join me and my friends? We are going to grab something to eat" I asked him. I remember he said he doesn't make friends but I can try right and anyways I know I won't be able to resist not trying to befriend him while being in the same class, if I can't date him I can atleast be around him as a friend

He looked sceptical about it at first but then agreed to come along. We walked over to Michael and topten who were waiting for me outside the faculty building

"Guys, Pavel will be joining us aswell" I said and looked over at Pavel

"You already know Michael and this is topten, topten this is Pavel" I introduced them to eachother

"Hi" Pavel said shyly looking at topten

"Hey" topten replied enthusiastically

"Oooooh... didn't you say the date didn't go well then what's this huh" Michael spoke up as I immediately elbowed him hard to shut him up as he winced in pain

"What does his date have anything to do with this?" Topten asked confused

"Well the person I set pooh up with was Pavel" Michael said wrapping his arm around topten's neck

"Really! They do look cute together I'm definitely shipping you guys" topten said enthusiastically as Pavel was standing awkwardly he immediately spoke up

"We both already decided that it won't work out between us" Pavel said and damn that hurt

"Well that's ok...we can still be friends, come on let's grab something to eat" topten said and left Michael's side wrapping his arm around Pavel's neck and led him towards the food stalls as me and Michael followed them, Michael slowly whispered to me

"You like him, don't you"

"W-what no, of course not" I lied

"Come on, I've known you for so long I can tell when you are lying, you can tell me the truth"

"Fine... I do like him but he already told me he doesn't want a serious relationship with anyone"

"But you still wanted to be close to him and that's why you invited him to hangout with us" he said placing a hand around my shoulders

"How did you know?"

"I know you very well ok... I may not look like it but I care about my friends alright, just don't get yourself hurt I don't want what happened last time to repeat"

He was referring to my last heartbreak when I got to know that my now ex was cheating on me I was completely broken and cried to him for days during that time I was so thankful to have him as my friend he really helped me get through that time.

"Hmm...ok" I said

"Michael... come try this sausage it's so good" topten called him

"Coming.... you should get something to eat too" he said running towards where topten and Pavel were standing

I made my way towards them as Pavel turned and gave me a smile. We got some food and found a place to sit

"Pavel you are really fun to be around" topten said

"Of course he is" I involuntarily spoke up as topten raised a brow at me

"So Pavel why did you reject him?" Topten asked as Pavel looked clueless thinking about what to say so I intervened

"It was mutual ok....he didn't reject me"

"Well it doesn't seem like it" topten said looking at me doubtfully

"Oh Pavel you still haven't met our other friend Benz....he didn't come today but I'll surely introduce him to you tomorrow" Michael said changing the topic

"Yeah...he would be surprised to see a new member" topten said

"New member?" Pavel asked

"Hmm... you are now a part of our group and pooh add him in our group chat it'll be easy to communicate"

I nodded and added him in our group chat. Soon enough it was time to leave, Michael and topten left together since they lived near eachother,leaving me and Pavel alone

"You have really nice friends" Pavel said softly

"So do you, I remember you said you don't make friends but you can try hanging out with us" I said giving him puppy eyes

"I guess I can try something new"

I jumped in excitement and hugged him as I realised it I immediately pulled back

"I'm sorry I got a bit carried away" he laughed a bit

"Its fine....we are friends now right"

"Yes we are" I said giving him a smile it's not what I wanted but being friends was better than being strangers right I can atleast take care of him this way
