The sun was dimmed with the fog that trailed on the forest ground. The greenery was still stained with white frost from the cold that was hopefully melting any day now. The birds, at least the ones that are still there despite the cold, were chirping away which combined made for a very peaceful atmosphere. Nothing could possibly ruin that serenity at the moment.

Except of course for the gasping girl running for her life from a man with a sword trying to slash her down while also dodging several obstacles that have the singular objective to hurt her.

'This is the worst! This is the worst! How did this happen?' thought the panicking girl as she barely dodged a swing from the man behind her.

The grown man and not very grown girl stood in the middle of what looked to be a training area with the snow around it cleared. The weather was still freezing and it caused the girl to shiver.

"So do I start punching or something?" Hitomi asked as she was finally free of her injuries much to her relief, though she felt fine a while ago but Akio insisted that she should take more time to recover.

The girl was dressed in the same warm clothes as before, her current teacher was great at a lot of things and sewing clothing seems to be one of them. She also had her mostly white hair tied in a ponytail because it was getting in her way although it felt unnatural in a way.

Akio let out a chuckle at her question as his marigold eyes met her crimson ones and he shook his head.

"No, that's not the way we'll go about this. The breathing style I will teach you requires these things first before strength: stamina and the ability to jump high!" He looked at her with a proud grin and although Hitomi didn't return it, she had a small feeling of excitement creeping into her soul as the man gathered two bracelet-looking things that looked to be made out of black stone off of the wooden box in the middle of the training area.

"What is that?" the girl asked as she eyed the bracelets and couldn't help but feel a bit confused as Akio gently took her right hand and slipped it on but he held up one bead so Hitomi didn't feel the bracelet resting on her hand.

"These are to help with your training. Everyday you will wear these specially designed bracelets to increase both of the skills I mentioned before. It will be a bit difficult but you'll get used to it" Akio held a small smile on his face as he watched Hitomi's face morph into a small frown as if she was truly struggling with the idea. He would explain but showing her was always better than telling her.

"I don't understand how bracelets help with my train-!"

She couldn't get her full thoughts out as there was a large overwhelming weight dropped down on her right wrist and she felt gravity force the rest of her body down with it. She hit the ground ungracefully as she laid down and tried to lift her body with the one hand that wasn't being forced to be glued to the dirt only to fail.

Although her face only showed it slightly her annoyance only increases when she hears an obnoxious snort from the grown man looming over her with a small smirk on his face as she is easily lifted off of the ground and placed on her feet.

"What was that?" Hitomi asked as she glared as hard as her fairly neutral face would let her.

"Weights. From now on you will be wearing these every single day to increase your speed. I also have another set for your legs. I warned you didn't I? Yet you still insist on this so in turn, these next few years will be suffering and pain until you're strong enough to be a decent demon slayer" Akio held up more weights as the grin on his face grew in a way that screamed creepy.
