About ten minutes later, the sound of the doorbell reverberated throughout the mansion to indicate the doctor's arrival. Vincent swiftly rose from his seat, leaving the door ajar as he welcomed the doctor into the grandeur of his mansion.

Dr. Armstrong, a distinguished and elegant man with a confident air about him, entered the room and immediately surveyed his patient. He approached the couch where Isadora sat and began to inspect the injury on her leg with a subtle hum.

"Miss Moretti, it is fortunate that the bullet didn't hit any vital points or muscles in your thigh. However, I need to clean the wound first and assess the damage afterward, but I will do my best to ensure that it is done as swiftly and smoothly as possible."

Isadora simply nodded to the doctor in approval, granting permission for him to do his job. She watched as the doctor brought out the necessary equipments, from bandages to ointments and a couple of tools she didn't recognize. Regardless, she was prepared to undergo this treatment.

"I suggest you bring her to a bed, it would make my work much easier," The doctor suggested as he faced Vincent.

"Alright then," The latter replied and swiftly picked Isadora up into his arms, making his way towards one of the guestrooms.

Once he entered the room with the doctor following behind, Vincent set the woman down on the bed after turning on the lights — which were, fortunately, much brighter than the living room. The moment she was set down, Vincent nodded at the doctor and let him begin his work while he watched closely.

Dr. Armstrong began to inject her thigh with local anesthesia using a syringe, allowing the substance to settle into her leg. It began to gradually take effect, and the doctor proceeded to clean the wound meticulously, removing any foreign debris and blood clots that could potentially cause an infection.

As the doctor worked, Vincent couldn't help but notice the tension in Isadora's face, despite her valiant effort to keep her composure. Despite the numbness of the affected leg, her eyes were closed and her jaw tightened.

Dr. Armstrong finished cleaning the wound and began to apply ointment to prevent infection, followed by a sterile dressing. He inspected his work for a good minute, nodding satisfactorily and turning his attention to Isadora.

"Your leg will need to be cleaned and bandaged every day or so until the wound fully heals. In the meantime, rest and elevate it when possible. Apply ice to reduce any swelling, and avoid putting any weight on it until it's fully recovered. If you experience any signs of infection, such as increased pain, redness, or fever, be sure to let me know immediately," He reminded her.

Isadora simply nodded, still feeling numb at that moment while the doctor began to pack his things. Then a moment later, Vincent escorted Dr. Armstrong out of the mansion, engaging in a short discussion with him.

"Thank you for coming, doctor. I'll be sure to send you the payment shortly," Vincent spoke up, his gaze fixed on the other man.

"It is no problem, Mr. Falcone. If she feels unwell or terrible, let me know as soon as you can."

After that response, the doctor left the area and Vincent returned to Isadora's side. He sat down on the edge of the bed, concern evident in his eyes as he gazed at her.

"How are you feeling?" He questioned in a gentler tone, something he wasn't used to when he talked to people.

"I still feel numb, but otherwise, I'm feeling better without the bullet sticking in my leg," She replied, glancing down at the bandage wrapped around her left thigh.

"The doctor advises you to rest so... I'm not letting you out of my sight."

Isadora parted her lips to protest, but he immediately interrupted her.
