Quick A/N:
These are all ships I love and I will die on these hills, alright? Don't mess with my ships. (Seriously, please, if you don't agree with them please just leave)
Another thing: I love Taylor Swift in kind of an obsessive way. I am aware that it's weird. I don't need to be reminded of that. I also don't need people to tell me exactly how much they hate Taylor Swift. I have enough of that, okay?
Also please keep in mind that this is something I made at 2:30 am because I needed a seratonin boost.
Enjoy!
Katelena: Dress by Taylor Swift
This just feels like such a Katelena song to me. I can't really explain it. Something about the line 'Our secret moments in a crowded room, they've got no idea about me and you' just feels like them.
Spideychelle: So High School by Taylor Swift (OR The Alchemy by Taylor Swift)
I know they're in high school and this song is about feeling like you're in high school again after graduating, but both of these are just such sweet songs about literally just being in love, nothing else, head-over-heels, fully in love. I love it. (There are other songs that really feel like them, like Lover by Taylor Swift, Riptide by Vance Joy, etc but I love these two for them)
Stucky: Timeless by Taylor Swift or Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince by Taylor Swift (OR History Hates Lovers by Oublaire)
These are incredibly easy and self-explanatory if you know the songs. Because in Timeless, the first chorus is "Even if we'd met on a crowded street in 1944, and you were headed off to fight in the war, you still would've been mine, we would've been timeless. I would've read your love letters every single night and prayed to God you'd be coming home alright, and you would've been fine, we would've been timeless"
Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince...is Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince. First of all, the fucking title. Alright, Steve would be 'mr' americana, but it still works. And Bucky is definitely the Heartbreak Prince. Have you seen the amount of x reader fanfics out there for him? Because I have. And it is not pretty.
For History Hates Lovers, I mean, come on. Y'all know the chorus, I bet. It's hard not to think of them.
Brutasha: Wildest Dreams by Taylor Swift
Being with Bruce was the first real romantic relationship Nat was in. (Assuming she had no partners in the Red Room, which she almost certainly didn't) She has a hard time getting attached to and trusting people, which I bet made her think the relationship was doomed to fail from the start. Same with Bruce. Hence "I can see the end as it begins"
Bruce tried to convince Natasha to run away with him ("He said 'let's get out of this town, drive out of the city, away from the crowds'") and Natasha almost went with him. However, she didn't, and I bet the two of them spent much of their lives wondering if it could've gone differently.
Also, the chorus? "Say you'll remember me, standing in a nice dress, staring at the sunset, babe. Red lips and rosy cheeks, say you'll see me again, even if it's just in your wildest dreams" fits Nat so well.
Sylki: Getaway Car by Taylor Swift (OR Cowboy Like Me by Taylor Swift)
Ah, yes, the controversial 'self-cest' ship.
I'm not going to pretend this ship isn't toxic. They're both the god of lies. Of course it's toxic. But somehow, that's what makes it work.
(I'm not going to get into self-cest. All I'll say is that if you think Sylki is self-cest, by that logic, miles x gwen is also self-cest.)
But Getaway Car is THE SONG for toxic relationships. "Us traitors never win" "Should've known I'd be the first to leave, think about the place where you first met me" Everything about it points to lies, deceit, everything that makes a relationship toxic...and yet somehow good at the same time. It didn't work, but it almost did, and that's what makes it perfect.
Where did Loki and Sylvie meet? In a grocery store, which is (shocker) NOT a getaway car. But they both ran away from the TVA only minutes after meeting. (They made a getaway, if you will) BUT THEY DIDN'T GET FAR. ("We were flying, but we never get far")
The second verse is definitely from Loki's POV, about their time on Lamentis. "You weren't thinking, and I was just drinking."
Also the song is ABOUT TOM HIDDLESTON. THE MOST LOKI SONG EVER IS ABOUT TOM HIDDLESTON.
Cowboy Like Me isn't my favorite song for them, but it is kind of a cute one. Especially the bridge.
"Perched in the dark, telling all the rich folks anything they wanna hear
Like it could be love, we could be the way forward, only if they pay for it.
You're a bandit like me,
Eyes full of stars, hustling for the good life, never thought I'd meet you here
It could be love, we could be the way forward, and I know I'll pay for it."The whole song is about two people in love, stealing and tricking and lying, but you can't help rooting for them because they have stars in their eyes when they look at each other.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
I should sleep now.
