Karkat sat a rock near the shore at the surface of the water. Karkat was easily the most admired of the children of Crabdad. He had a lovely voice and was often the envy of most young mermen.
A fish splashed to the surface. It was a rambunctious, young mertroll, and Karkat's best friend, Nepeta,":33-Oh, there you are, Karkat. I should have known you were up here!"
"JUST LOOK, NEPETA!"he propped himself up on the rock with his hands,"THE SUN! THE SAND! ITS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PLACE IVE EVER SEEN!"
Nepeta picked her fin,":33- Im not really sure we should be up here, Karkitty..."
"DONT BE SUCH A WRIGGLER FISH!"He smirked.
":33- A wriggler fish!? Im as brave as you are! Im not afraid of anything!"
"WHAT ABOUT SHARKS?"
She looked around frantically,":33-Where!?"
"YOU REALLY ARE A WRIGGLER FISH!"He layed on his chest and dangled one arm over the edge while using his other elbow as a chin rest.
":33-I am not!"Nepeta fumed.
"AWW..."Karkat ruffled her short brown hair."HEY, YOULL NEVER GUESS WHAT I FOUND TODAY!"He picked something up next to his waist on the rock. He showed it to Nepeta."ISNT IT COOL?"
":33-Yeah!"She paused and tilted her head,"What is it?"
"I DONT KNOW, BUT I BET ERIDAN WILL! COME ON, ILL RACE YA!"He leaped off the rock and into the water.
":33-Hey, wait fur me!"She quickly swam after him.
Eridan was sitting on a small Rock Island and scanning he ocean through a backwards telescope.
Karkat waved,"ERIDAN!"
"Mertroll of the port boww! Karkat, howw you doin', kid?"He put down the telescope and saw how close Karkat was."Wwhoa, wwhat a swwim!"
Nepeta grabbed the telescope and looked through it, trying to figure out how it worked.
Karkat ignored Eridan's stupidity and handed him the fork,"ERIDAN, LOOK WHAT WE FOUND!"
Eridan took it. He held it close to his face,"More human stuff, eh? Lemme see..."
Nepeta looked up from the telescope,":33-Can you tell is what it's fur?"
Eridan pulled back in shock. He gaped at the fork,"Wwoww! This is special. Vvery, vvery...unusual."
Karkat jumped up and grabbed the edge of the rock. He dangled from it,"WHAT? WHAT IS IT?"
Eridan held it high in one hand."Its a dinglehopper!"
Karkat cocked his head,"A dinglehopper?"
Eridan nodded,"Oh, these babies are fantabulous! Absolutely indispensary! Wwhen it comes to dinglehoppers, Im a regular encyclopoodia!"
Karkat snatched it back and let go and of the ledge,"WOW."
"Speaking of human stuff,"Eridan turned around and started looking all over the rock."I havve something for ya."He pulled a pipe from the rock.
"WHATS THAT?"Karkat asked.
"A snarfblatt!"He announced.
"WHATS IT DO?"
Eridan handed it to him,"Bloww through it."
He put it in his mouth and blew. Smoke billowed out the top. Nepeta put the telescope back on the rock. Karkat handed it to her. She looked through the end.
"And that's not all! It makes music the likes of wwhich you never heard!"Eridan folded his arms, proud of himself.
"MUSIC? OH NO! THE CONCERT! MY LUSUS IS GONNA KILL ME!"
":33-The concert was today?"
"I COMPLETELY FORGOT! COME ON, NEPETA. THANKS, ERIDAN!"
"Anytime, swweets. Anytime!"
