Gods and Ghosts - Renheng/Xingyue

Chapter 2

When Baiheng took both Dan Feng and Jing Yuan out to town, they all walked around for a bit, got some food, and avoided the public, to avoid any people trying to talk or question the prince, Dan Feng.

Dan Feng was bored out of his mind, since Baiheng wouldn't let him or Jing Yuan do anything fun. Dan Feng wanted to find something to do, even if it caused some or a lot of trouble.

As Dan Feng was walking behind Baiheng, with Jing Yuan, Dan Feng noticed a boy around his age nearby, walking alone.

The boy had slightly long blue hair, bluish purple eyes, and slightly worn down clothing.

"He seems nice." Dan Feng thought to himself, glancing at Baiheng and Jing Yuan, who weren't paying any attention to him. Dan Feng grinned, then snuck away, following the boy close behind, being careful so that the boy wouldn't spot him.

As Dan Feng followed close behind the boy, he noticed a large cloak on a wagon, deciding to just grab it and put it on, so no one could recognize him.

After a while of Dan Feng following the boy, Dan Feng noticed that the boy seemed to be leaving the kingdom. Dan Feng sighed quietly, "I'm definitely in big trouble once I return or the knights find me." Dan Feng shrugged, watching as the boy left the kingdom. Dan Feng then followed behind, being careful that none of the knights see his face.

The boy seemed to be walking towards a forest, causing Dan Feng to rethink his decisions. Dan Feng reached into his pocket, checking to see if he still had his knife, just in case he needed to use it for self defense.

Dan Feng didn't know whether to laugh or cry when he couldn't find his knife.

Dan Feng took a deep breath. "I'm fucked if there's any 'monsters' in here.. Or if that boy isn't actually nice and beats my ass." Dan Feng sighed, then continued walking, walking into the forest, still making sure to not be spotted by the boy.

After about 20 minutes of walking, the boy suddenly stopped walking. "You've been following me for awhile now.." The boy said as he turned around, with a glare on his face. "Who are you?"

Dan Feng blinked in surprise. "Should've expected this.." Dan Feng sighed. "I apologize for following you.. I was quite bored." Dan Feng said with a smile, but his face was barely noticeable with the cloak he had on.

The boy raised an eyebrow. "Following someone out of boredom? What are you? A creep?"

Dan Feng's eye twitched as the boy called him a creep, but Dan Feng kept the smile on his face, masking his frustration. "There's no need for rude names, sir."

The boy rolled his eyes. "Remove the cloak. For all I know, you could be some creepy old man that likes following teenagers or even little kids."

"Well that's not very nice.." Dan Feng muttered then removed the cloak, tossing it to the side. Dan Feng kept a smile on his face, to mask his frustration and slight annoyance.

The boy blinked, looking at Dan Feng with disbelief. "The prince? Why would you, a prince, be following me?" The boy's eyebrow raised once again.

"Like I said before, I was bored." Dan Feng repeated, shrugging his arms. "I wasn't allowed to do anything that was actually fun, so I snuck away."

The boy stared at Dan Feng for a few seconds, then blinked. "But why exactly did you follow me?"

"Why not?" Dan Feng grinned.

"That's not answering my question, you know?"

Dan Feng rolled his eyes, then smiled. "Anyway, so what's your name?"

The boy sighed and face palmed.

The boy chuckled, then crossed his arms. "My name is Yingxing."

"Yingxing? What a pretty name.." Dan Feng said, but has voice was rather quiet, so Yingxing was unable to hear what he said.

Yingxing blinked. He didn't hear what Dan Feng said, but decided not to question it. "Well, prince.. What exactly do you plan to do? The knights will eventually find you and you'll be in a lot of trouble for sneaking away."

Dan Feng shrugged. "I'll be fine.. and call me Dan Feng. I have a name you know.. Calling me 'prince' sounds weird."

"Alright then." Yingxing said, deciding to trust Dan Feng's words.

Dan Feng then looked around the forest a bit, then looked back at Yingxing. "Are you busy?"

Yingxing shook his head. "No, I was also bored and had decided to come out here to look at the scenery."

Dan Feng stared at Yingxing for a few seconds, thinking about something.

"How about we sit down under that tree over there and chat?" Dan Feng said after a minute, pointing at a tree with plenty of shade.

Yingxing thought for a second, then nodded. "Alright, if that is what you wish to do."
