Adrika’s POV

I was sitting in my room with a cup of coffee, staring out of the window with a distant look in my eyes. The sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting soft patterns on the walls around me.

My thoughts were consumed by the recent accident I had endured, the one that left me with injuries requiring surgery. I traced my fingers absentmindedly over the scar on my arm, a constant reminder of that fateful day.

Mr. Khurana had been by my side throughout it all. I remembered how he had insisted on taking care of me, despite my initial protests. But as he hovered near me, his attempts to help grated
on my last nerve.

His concern was suffocating, each gesture a reminder of my vulnerability. I felt a surge of irritation and anger rising within me, fueled by my own frustration and pain.

I just wanted to be left alone to deal with my own pain, my own way. His concern was palpable yet tinged with a hint of frustration at my stubbornness.

Reluctantly, I had agreed to stay at his
bungalow for some days during my recovery, where his family had warmly welcomed me.

Mr Khurana's behavior felt like this for a reason-because I had never received such care since childhood.

Suddenly, his kindness didn't sit well with me, especially at a time when I believed everyone ultimately seeks their own gain.

I felt that his manner of caring was unwanted, I needed to consider whether it truly met my needs or was simply the result of his own desires.

Also because of the strange distance that hung between us. We were engaged, our families eagerly planning our wedding, yet we were still strangers in many ways.

The accident had shaken me deeply, not just physically but emotionally too. I found myself grappling with my own
vulnerability.

Vaani's call came unexpectedly, announcing they were on their way to fetch me. And now, here I am in Lakshadweep, seated on this bed, overwhelmed by back pain that feels like it might just end me.

That day, Vaani's call came out of the blue, confirming they'd be picking me up soon. Without delay, they arrived and ushered me into the car.

I found myself seated beside Vaani in the back, with Rudra at the wheel and Trisha beside him. It was then that she revealed our destination.

Lakshadweep, where our wedding awaited us. However, I couldn't muster any excitement; my mind was occupied by something far more sinister, something beyond anyone's imagination.

And now, having boarded the flight, I find myself in this stunning property. This exquisite property belongs to my soon to be father-in-law's dear friend it's absolutely breathtaking.

On one side, a pristine beach stretches endlessly, while on the other, a lush garden or perhaps a small forest gently leads to the main road, a place I would surely enjoy visiting if only my back
would permit it.

The whirlwind of events unfolded with such swiftness, it felt as if time itself couldn't keep pace.

From the vibrant hues of Haldi and the intricate beauty of Mehndi, to the lively festivities of the Cocktail party, everything swept by in a blur.

As I sat adorned with haldi and intricate mehndi designs, surrounded by the vibrant energy of our haldi, mehndi, and cocktail function, my mind wandered through a maze of emotions.

Each congratulatory hug and cheerful remark felt like a distant echo, my responses tinged with a forced smile that barely concealed my inner turmoil.

My gaze often met Mr Khurana's. But as soon as I found it, I removed it in the blink of an eye. As the evening unfolded into the cocktail hour, the music grew louder, and the guests immersed themselves deeper into the festivities.
