Y/N Gojo (Part 1: New Workplace Arc)

Devils are made more powerful through humanity's fear of what any said devil represents. They're originally created through humanity's fear of certain things. The best documented case of this phenomenon was the attack of the Gun Devil's appearance following a large scale terrorist attack involving guns that occurred in 1984. November 18th, after the attack, is when the Gun Devil appeared. For the twenty six seconds it's sights were trained on Japan, the devil killed nearly fifty eight thousand people, the death toll worldwide being a total of around one point two million. That event itself was the best documented case of a devil attack worldwide caused by the fear of humans. There have of course been other devil attacks and they're almost always documented, yet none have matched the destruction and societal panic caused by the Gun Devil's attack. The attack actually gives some key details about humanity that are important to note, the main take away being that humans will never eradicate devils on their own. The scarier a devil's name, the more powerful it is. That's the rule.

Yet, even in a world with what seems like such a clear cut set of rules and logic, there was an anomaly. Almost six years prior to the Gun Devil's attack, a child was born in Japan. Y/N Gojo's birth fundamentally changed the power balance of the natural world and hell itself. This shift in power began producing more powerful devils in hell just to balance power once more and keep devils superior to humans. That in turn created more fear in humans, actually causing these devils to become even more powerful. No one in power knew the reason as to why this shift had occurred, or really noticed it enough to care. The Gojo family did though, they kept that knowledge secret until they all died during the Gun Devil's attack in 1984. Y/N was born as something more than human and devil, something unexplainable even to those who knew about him. His icy blue eyes gave him the ability to identify any devil at a passing glance, also making him able to see anyone with a devil contract and what devil they had a contract with. But that wasn't all Y/N Gojo was gifted with. He possessed an ability known within the family as the 'Limitless technique' that made it so Y/N had control over the concept of space, allowing him to use several different abilities that no one on earth would be able to understand without believing Y/N either had a contract with an incredibly powerful devil, or was a devil himself. Yet he had no contract and he certainly wasn't a devil.

He was humanity's response.

No one would ever understand what Y/N was, not even the most powerful devils in hell could really pretend to know how Y/N came to be. Nor did anyone know of his abilities, anyone that did know was already dead before Y/N turned six. The only one to truly understand Y/N was Y/N himself and that was his curse to bear alone. Yet it didn't seem to affect him, he lived a positive life and could do anything he really wanted. The scariest thing about him though, is that he lived without fear. After all, why should he be fearful of something that can't touch him. The answer was simple, he shouldn't be.

A yawn signalled someone waking up within the apartment, shortly followed by sheets being thrown off the bed and a thud. In an attempt to get the sheets off of himself, he had fallen onto the floor. Y/N Gojo emerged from the heap made from his bedcovers, yawning once more. Of course, the young man was unbothered by the fashion in which he had woken up and had chosen to just pretend it didn't happen. He stood up and put his bed covers back onto his bed before leaving his room and walking into his kitchen. The eighteen year old had recently finished his education and was simply enjoying a normal life. There was no need for him to get a job at the moment because of the inherited wealth he gained after the gun devil's attack. That amount of money had set him up to live a comfortable life until he was in his forties. So sure, he would eventually have to find a job but that was a matter for the future Y/N to figure out. So for now, he'd just enjoy life until he couldn't anymore, it was as simple as that.
