A Mother's Concern
Taehyung's phone rang, and he hesitated for a moment before answering. "Hello, Mom."
"Taehyung, what happened at the academy? I heard something went down," his mom asked, her voice laced with concern.
Taehyung took a deep breath and told his mom everything, from the incident in the washroom to the principal's decision to expel the other student. He left out no details, wanting his mom to understand the severity of the situation.
His mom listened attentively, her expression growing more worried by the minute. Taehyung could almost see her furrowed brow and pursed lips, her eyes filled with a mix of anger and fear.
When Taehyung finished, his mom said, "I'm coming to Korea in two days, Taehyung. I want to see you and make sure you're okay. I'll book my flight tonight."
Taehyung was taken aback. His mom had never taken his side before, always siding with his father's strict views. But now, she sounded different, concerned and caring.
"Mom, it's okay. I'm fine. Really," Taehyung protested, not wanting his mom to worry.
But his mom was firm. "No, Taehyung. I need to see you. Your father is worried too. We know you're a stubborn and fearless troublemaker, but you're also only 17, a teenage boy who needs our support and guidance. We should have been more understanding and supportive from the start."
Taehyung was touched by his mom's words, feeling a warmth in his heart that he hadn't felt in a long time. Maybe, just maybe, his mom was finally starting to understand him. And maybe, just maybe, their relationship was starting to heal.
As they ended the call, Taehyung felt a sense of relief wash over him. He realized that his mom was making an effort to change, to be more understanding and supportive. And that gave him hope.
Over the next two days, Taehyung couldn't focus on anything except his mom's upcoming visit. He felt a mix of emotions - excitement, nervousness, and anticipation. What would his mom be like now? Would she still be the strict, distant parent he had grown up with, or would she be different, more understanding and supportive?
When the day of her arrival finally came, Taehyung's heart raced with excitement. He waited at the airport, his eyes scanning the crowds for a glimpse of his mom. And then, suddenly, he saw her - a familiar figure with a warm smile and open arms.
"Taehyung!" she exclaimed, rushing towards him. "My baby boy!"
Taehyung felt a lump form in his throat as he hugged his mom tightly, feeling a sense of warmth and love that he hadn't felt in years. Maybe, just maybe, this was the start of a new chapter in their relationship, one filled with understanding, support, and love.
Taehyung's mom was delighted to meet Jungkook, Jimin, Hoseok, Namjoon, Seokjin, and Yoongi. She had heard so much about them from Taehyung, and she was happy to see that her son had finally made some sensible friends in Paris.
"Welcome, everyone!" she exclaimed, her eyes shining with warmth. "I've heard so much about you all. Please, come in, come in!"
Taehyung's friends were charmed by his mom's hospitality, and they eagerly accepted her offer of food and drinks. As they sat down to eat, Taehyung's mom couldn't help but notice the strong bond between her son and his friends.
"I'm so glad to see you've made such good friends, Taehyung," she said, smiling at him. "You never really had friends like this before, did you?"
Taehyung shook his head, grinning. "No, Mom. These guys are the best. We've been through thick and thin together."
His mom nodded, her eyes filling with tears. "I'm so proud of you, Taehyung. You've grown into such a wonderful young man. And I'm glad to see you've found people who appreciate you for who you are."
As they ate and chatted, Taehyung's mom made sure to ask each of his friends about their interests and hobbies. She was fascinated by their stories and passions, and she couldn't believe how talented and driven they all were.
"You know, I was worried about Taehyung when he first moved to Paris," she confided in them. "But now, seeing him with all of you, I know he's in good hands. You're all such wonderful friends to him."
Taehyung's friends smiled and thanked her, feeling grateful for her approval. And as they finished their meal and said their goodbyes, Taehyung's mom hugged each of them tightly.
"Thank you for being such good friends to my son," she whispered. "You're all welcome in my home anytime."
