I sat in my office, staring at the photo of me and Amara on my desk. I couldn't shake off the feeling that I had made a mistake by breaking up with her. My mind raced back to our last conversation, and I realized that I had jumped to conclusions without giving her a chance to explain.
"Kunle, you fool!" I muttered to myself. "You let your insecurities destroy the best thing that ever happened to you."
I picked up my phone and dialed Amara's number, my heart racing with anticipation.
"Amara, please pick up," I whispered.
As I waited for her to answer, I thought about the evidence that had come to light, proving her innocence. I had been so blindfolded by my own doubts that I had refused to listen to her side of the story.
"Hello?" Amara's voice came through the line, hesitant and guarded.
"Amara, it's me, Kunle. I need to see you. I have something important to tell you."
There was a pause on the other end of the line before Amara responded.
"Kunle, I don't know if I'm ready to see you. You hurt me deeply."
Kunle took a deep breath and let his words pour out from his heart.
"Amara, I know I hurt you, and I'm deeply sorry. I was wrong to accuse you, and I realize now that I made a mistake. Please, just give me a chance to explain and make things right."
The line went silent again, and my heart sank. Had I lost the chance to make things right?
