Y/N's POV ~
The next day, I woke up determined to find out what had happened with Jungkook. I couldn't shake the confusion from yesterday's events. After all, it wasn't like him to just disappear without any explanation. I decided to wear a comfortable yet stylish outfit, opting for a high-neck blouse that made it easy to leave the necklace behind once more.
As I walked into the office, I spotted Yoona, my new friend and colleague, who greeted me with her usual cheerful smile. "Good morning, Y/N! How are you today?"
"Morning, Yoona," I replied, forcing a smile. "I'm okay, thanks."
I headed straight to my desk and started working, trying to focus on the tasks at hand. But my mind kept drifting back to the missed coffee date. Finally, around mid-morning, my phone buzzed with a message. I quickly grabbed it, hoping it was Jungkook.
Jungkook: Hey Y/N, I'm really sorry about yesterday. Can we meet today? Same place, same time?
Relief washed over me. At least he hadn't ghosted me intentionally. I typed back a quick response.
Y/N: Sure, see you then.
The day passed slowly, and I found myself watching the clock, counting down the hours until 3 PM. When the time finally came, I gathered my things and headed to Bluebird café, my heart pounding with anticipation.
As I entered the café, I scanned the room, but once again, there was no sign of Jungkook. I chose the same table near the window and ordered a coffee, trying to stay calm. Five minutes passed, then ten. By the time twenty minutes had gone by, I was feeling the same frustration and confusion as the day before.
I checked my phone, but there were no new messages from him. Something didn't add up. I took a deep breath and decided to wait a little longer. But as the minutes ticked by, my patience wore thin.
Finally, I stood up, deciding to step outside for some fresh air. As I reached the door, I felt a familiar weight missing. My necklace. I had left it behind again. An uneasy feeling crept over me, but I pushed it aside. It was just a coincidence, I told myself.
Standing outside the café, I glanced around, hoping to spot him walking up the street. But there was nothing. The sense of déjà vu was overwhelming. Why wasn't he here? What was going on?
As I turned to go back inside, my phone buzzed. I quickly pulled it out, but it wasn't from Jungkook. It was a message from Yoona.
Yoona: Hey, Y/N. Just checking in. Everything okay?
I typed back a quick response.
Y/N: Yeah, just waiting for someone. Thanks for asking.
I walked back inside, feeling more confused than ever. I returned to my table and sat down, trying to make sense of everything. Then, a thought struck me. What if this had something to do with the necklace?
It seemed ridiculous, but there was no denying the pattern. Both times I had planned to meet Jungkook, I had left the necklace behind, and both times he hadn't shown up. Could it be that somehow the necklace was connected to his presence?
Feeling a bit silly, but desperate for answers, I decided to test my theory. I quickly finished my coffee and headed back to the office. Once there, I retrieved the necklace from my desk drawer and fastened it around my neck.
Almost immediately, my phone buzzed with a new message. I glanced down and saw Jungkook's name.
Jungkook: Hey, Y/N, I'm so sorry. Something came up. Can we reschedule for tomorrow?
My heart raced as I read his message. There was definitely something strange going on. Determined to get to the bottom of it, I typed back a response.
Y/N: Sure. Same time, same place.
As I set my phone down, I couldn't shake the feeling that this was just the beginning of a much larger mystery. And I was determined to uncover the truth.
