Past Issues

I wake up to Kyra ripping my bed sheets off me leaving me exposed and cold, she looks amused giggling her head off before I give her a death stare. She realizes the look in my eyes and bolts out my bedroom door putting as much space between me and her as she could.

Lexi: WHAT THE FUCK KYRA

I yell downstairs and can hear her laughing her head off in the living room. She doesn't reply until she walks upstairs five minutes later after I have cooled off.

Kyra: It's your first training session today, Jonas told me to make sure you aren't late so he can introduce you to all the girls.

Lexi: Fuck me, I forgot I have to meet them.

I say as I burry my head in the pillow not looking forward to the meeting.

Kyra: what's wrong Lex? are you nervous about meeting the team. They are all really nice I promise they will like you.

Lexi: I'm not so sure Kyra

I say referring to the fact that one person on the team for sure hates me after our last meeting.

Kyra: ah, you mean Leah, I remember what happened the last time you saw her, yea I would keep a distance, she had a big rant after that game swearing her head off about you, but surely she has forgotten about it by now.

Lexi: I'm not so sure she would forget about me punching her in the face

Kyra: why did you punch her anyways?

Lexi: I don't know what came over me, she got into my head and got me fuming to the point where I couldn't control what I was doing

Kyra: well I'm sure it will be fine

Kyra assures me but she seems unsure about it herself, great, already got bad blood in the new team and I haven't even started yet.

Kyra and I get changed into our kits and she offers to drive me to the training grounds, I take her up on her offer and we have a fun care ride to the facility. As we are walking through the doors Kyra realizes she has forgotten her boots and shows me where to meet Jonas before running back to the car. Kyra's directions were unhelpful to say the least, she told me to walk down the corridor and I would find him, so I begin walking down the corridor and as I turn the corner I smash into someone's body and see them toppling to the ground, I look down to see none other than Leah Williamson on the floor.

Leah: Watch where your going?

she tells me bluntly before looking up at me and realizing its me. Her expression changes from annoyance to anger.

Leah: what the hell are YOU doing here

Lexi: walking into someone that doesn't know how to smile it seems

I reply to her sarcastically to which she says.

Leah: I smile, just not for cold hearted bitches

I put my hand to my heart pulling a sarcastic hurt face to which she just scoffs and walks away. I continue searching for Jonas before he creeps up on me from behind.

Jonas: get lost did ya? I've been looking for you

Lexi: yup got lost

I say to him as he motions for me to follow him to a room where I hear girls chatting, Jonas tells me to walk in as he says my name. I wait outside as Jonas explains to the girls about the new recruit.

Jonas: Listen up girls, we have a new signing, I trust you will all make her feel welcome. Please welcome Lexi.

He gets stuck trying to think of my last name, which I don't really have, on my birth certificate it says Beckham but no one knows that so I just go by Lexi. I walk in at the mention of my name. Kyra pretends to be shocked and comes to give me a big hug to which many of the girls give her a confused glare not knowing that we had made up. I presume she had mentioned my name once or twice. Most of the girls come to introduce themselves giving me plenty of hugs. All but one girl, Leah. She stands at the back of the room chatting to Viv with her hands in her pocket, not making any effort to acknowledge my existence. The introductions are cut short by Jonas telling us to start training.

Jonas: ok girls pair up, we are going to be doing our partner warm ups. Lexi you can go with Leah for these.

I look over to Kyra who has a sad face, as do I. It would have been nice to be partnered up with her. Instead I find myself walking over to Leah who just huffs at my existence.

Lexi: eye healed up nicely I see

I say sarcastically trying to banter to which she seems unimpressed.

Leah: don't talk to me or I'll return the gift.

she says with a cold glare that tells me she is not mucking around.

Lexi: whatever

I scoff as we begin doing warm ups not speaking a word to Leah for the rest of the warm up. That is until I see Kyra running over with a full water bottle and before I realize what she is about to do I am drenched in water. I look over at Kyra and Alessia giggling their heads off.

Lexi: KYRA I'M GOING TO GET YOU

I shout at her before grabbing another water bottle and sprinting after her. I chase her for a couple minutes before she gives up and stops running so I pour the bottle of water over her head drenching her.

Kyra: fuck Lex, I forgot you know how to get a girl back, normally the other girls don't retaliate.

She says as she giggles and huffs due to being out of breath. She whips her shirt off, not wanting to train in a wet t-shirt. I do the same, I feel her eyes linger on my abs, I smirk, I didn't think she still felt that way about me.

She catches me catching her staring and blushes, she whispers in my ear.

Kyra: still kept in shape I see

As she walks of to join Alessia to continue doing partner drills. I do the same returning to Leah. She glares at me, I notice her glare lasts for longer than normal. She's staring at my abs, I knew they were good, but to have two girls drooling over them is a pretty big ego boost.

I walk up to Leah and get close to her ear so I can whisper.

Lexi: take a picture, it lasts longer

I have the smirk on my face, that same smirk from the day where I got in her head. Her cheeks go red from both blushing and her anger.

Leah: we aren't friends, and I wasn't staring, just zoned out

She explains, and I know full well she is lying, she knows I know too but just dismisses me as she goes to get a drink. We continue the training session and end up having to play a 5v5 game at the end, it was Me, Steph, Kyra, Alessia and Katie on one team and the other was Leah, Beth, Viv, Caitlin and Lotte. With three Aussie's on the team we worked quite well together and the other team could not predict our passes. No one had scored until I got a chance at goal off a nice pass from Kyra, I smashed it in top right corner making us 1-0 up. Kyra and Steph gave me a pat on the back before we got back into position. The other team had not had any shots on goal and looked annoyed, especially Leah, I knew she didn't want to get beaten by me once again. My team does a beautiful run of passes through the middle and Katie passes me a ball and I ran through the defenders, I can feel Leah on my heels so I quickly go to shoot when I feel my legs buckle beneath me and I fall flat on my face. In the moment I get angry because it was obviously a dirty tackle so I stand up and shout in her face "WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT LEAH". She just chuckles to herself and replies "not my fault you didn't shoot it sooner" with a smirk on her face. I am clearly irritated by her comment so I walk up in her face and say "you know what your problem is Leah, you just can't accept that I have beaten you every time we have had a one on one, you just need to accept the fact that I'm simple better". Leah is clearly angered by my comment and she goes to shove me before Beth grabs her and says "Leah don't". I want Leah to shove me just so I can shove her back and put her in her place cos she deserves it, I start to walk towards her before I feel arms around me. "she's not worth it Lex, lets get you to Medical you've got a blood nose" Kyra says to me before putting her arm around me and leading me to get my blood nose sorted.
