Eric's POV
Sketching ideas for potential assist cards, my wrist gives out as the sight of buildings come into view. Trying to get a look every which angel I go back to my list and count how many I've committed to. There's a few fire extinguishers, 50ft of rope, batteries, but none are the same. Things are looking good! I know I'll make it into U.A., I have to!
"Good morning everyone it's currently 7:45am here in Japan." The captain greets the irritable passengers.
We touch down on the tar mat and with luck on my side the plane immediately docks at a gate. I snatch up my carry-ons then politely rush off the plane. The waiting area is lovely. There's cafes packed with people sitting at small tables enjoying a light meal before their flight. Drink stands offering cold refreshments and desserts. OH MY GOD THEY HAVE NAP PODS!
Making my way to luggage claim I see Kiri-he dyed his hair red! It looks great, but where on Earth did this come from? Did he lose a bet or join a band?
"Ay-hey, Eric! What up man?" His smile stretches from ear to ear.
"What the hell happened to your hair!" Unable to contain it anymore I start laughing.
"Come on bro, it looks great!" Kirishima gives a prideful smile.
After grabbing my luggage we hail a cab to his house. Along the drive Kiri tells me all about the last few months he had to endure in junior high. The way he described it who knows if that giant of a man was a villain or not. If he interfered using his quirk, then he'd be arrested for illegal quirk use.
"You need to be careful. Mina did the right thing in telling the man where to go, but even that's still a big risk." "The important part is that no-one got hurt." The packed city streets and delayed signals has us enjoy the concrete jungle.
Rubbing my eyes a heavy sigh fills the car. "Be more careful next time."
While we're spending quality Summer time as ragamuffins. I catch a glance of the new bakery Kirishima told me about. I hope to get a part time job there, hopefully. A little job won't hurt. Especially since I'll need the money if I wish to enjoy leisure activities.
The driver pulls up to our destination, saying thanks I grab my stuff as the two of us enter the house. Kirishima shows me to my room. A cozy place with a beautiful bed, bookshelves, a desk with a gaming chair, and a house warming gift.
"What? You didn't have to." Opening the gift it's Settlers of Catan, "Oh my god thank you so much man!"
"You're welcome! I saw it at the store last week and knew you've been dying to get it." He punches my shoulder.
Kirishima gives me a quick house tour, showing me the bathroom and game lounge area. Apparently his folks won't be home until dinner which kind of sucks because I've only ever got to talk to them a few times. They're good people, kind and fun.
Organizing my room, I display my card collection on the desk. Some are unfinished as they need color or need more work. Kirishima entertains himself by working out in my room.
"Any improvements on your quirk?" He finishes a set of crunches.
"Remember how I have to be the one to create the cards, as in the entire card." Kirishima nods, "Which is why I studied a bit of engineering to create a card printing machine to be able to create durable cards."
"Yeah. In order for your quirk to work you have to be the one to create everything about the card. The design, coloring, sketch, size, material, all of it! Kind of a hassle if you ask me."
Reaching to a small airtight container, I unlatch the restraints and reveal my secret deck. A project I've been working on this year. Each card is different with a specific back design associated to a theme. I discovered that I can separate and organize the cards into an infinit amount of themes.
"Woah, new creations?" Kirishima tilts his head pointing at each themed card.
"Yep, but can you spot something different about them." I hand him a few cards.
He looks at each of the card's front face and back face. Going over their texture and really tries to take in everything. I probably should have specified because there's a lot I changed.
"You went with a rough texture, similar to the ones found on playing cards but took away the shine they use to have." His eyes grow wide leading me to believe he found the key detail.
"I managed to combine cards, fuse them together to reduce the amount I have to carry. Which basically adds benefits." Twiddling with my pencil thoughts swirl in my head, what other combinations can I make?
Kirishima returns the cards, "Forget improvement. If this works you'll push your Power Limit further than what we previously imagined."
"I know and it scares me. My power always felt like it had no limits except for me lacking the wherewithal to try new things." Massaging my temples a heavy sigh escapes my lungs. "My cards already split into two major categories; Conjuration and Evocation. The ability to bring forth actual objects of the real world to my location and the other allows me to make shit up so long as it can exist."
Shuffling my deck, I neatly place them back in the container. I really need to make a pouch or some kind of device that can let me access and store them easily without worrying that I may drop or damage them whenever I move. Let's hope there's a classmate can help me.
