Tolani's POV - the next day, at home 12:50pm...

I felt my phone buzz in my lap and I picked it up, seeing an incoming call from my older sister. "Hey girl" she spoke first, and I smiled, instantly feeling comfortable in her words. It had been so long since I had spoken to her or even seen her, so it was safe to say that I was missing her.

"So it's now you find my number" I joked and we both bussed out laughing. "But seriously I miss you so much" I told her once we had calmed down.

"I missed you too sissy, so much, things have just been busy" she explained and I nodded in understanding. "I know stuff has been going on with you though" she continued and I sighed, and she looked into the camera already knowing.

"Don't even get me started" I joked but lowkey felt myself getting flustered. "How did you..?" I started and she interrupted me.

"Mama filled me in" she explained and I rolled my eyes playfully at her.

"Of course she did" I laughed and so did she. "But I never even told you what happened next!" I adjusted myself on the bed, getting comfortable because I knew it was going to be a long night. She looked at me expectantly waiting for me to continue. "I bumped into Brian as I was leaving his apartment" I told her and her jaw dropped.

"You what?" She joked and shook her head. "Nah you need an escape, and this is actually perfect timing" she said, and I heard her tapping her screen, obviously doing something important.

"What do you mean? What is perfect timing?" I asked her and she smirked.

"Well" she started, and looked at me guiltily. "I've actually been planning this since last night when momma called me to fill me in but I booked us a little getaway so you can take your mind off of things" she continued and I felt my heart start getting excited.

"Ooo" I perked up. "So where are we going?" I asked her and she smirked.

"We're going back to Atlanta" she told me and I clapped excitedly. "I knew you'd be happy! I just thought we could go out there and you can see all your old friends and I can see some of mine and we can just have a chill time" she told me and I nodded.

"Thank you so much!" I said, and I really meant it. The Lord knew I needed some type of escape so this really came at the perfect time. "So when are we going?" I asked her and she smirked again.

"Be at the airport for 6 cause our flight is at 8:30" she told me and I nodded. "Aight, I'm gonna get back to work so I'll check in with you later, and get packing!" She warned me, in a sisterly way, and I laughed and nodded in agreement before ending the call.

Ugh I don't have any travel soaps. I groaned internally as that meant that I had to go back to the store.

I slipped on my crocs and started making my way towards my car. Getting outside, I began walking to my car and I saw a familiar figure walking towards me. As he got closer, I realised it was Brian. "Are you following me?" I joked and he laughed, pulling me into a hug that felt weirdly comfortable.

We stood like that for a minute before I pulled away. "But nah, I just wanted to see if you were straight cause yesterday you ain't really say why you was so upset" he explained and I smiled small up at him.

When he dropped him home last night I made him talk about anything but what had just happened. I didn't wanna talk about that, I just wanted to forget about it. Thinking and talking about it just upset me.

"I'm doing okay" I told him and he nodded in understanding.

"You headed somewhere?" He asked me, and I nodded.
