It was after classes and as usual, you would find the brunette sitting behind mountains of bookshelves, well, more like hiding from the lunatic she calls Alphonso.
"The setting sun? Didn't know you read books like that as well" Devra looked up from her book, staring directly at the boy across from her, "oh please Riddle, I read everything that has so much as a letter on it" he smirked at her words, knowing exactly what she meant.

"You'd make the perfect Slytherin, you know?" Said Tom, licking his lips, as he sat across from her. "So, I've heard" it was silent after that, the only sound being her footsteps as she searched the shelves for a certain book. "Why'd you ask me to come here, darling?" there it was, that pet name he oh so loved to call her and the very one she hated. "Riddle, I think it's best- for both of us, if you'd stop pestering me with your advances in wanting to be a couple" she stated bluntly, turning on her heel to face him, her dark hair moving as she did.

His smirk dropped, rising from his seat as he took slow steps towards her, until he was only a few centimeters Infront of her. The closeness made Devra take a step back, he closed the distance once again, she wanted to put some distance but couldn't, seeing as there was a bookshelf, right behind her. "You know I can't possibly do that Devra" he spoke, his voice hushed. The only thing she could think of was the way her name rolled off his tongue, she did- might of possibly? well either way, she knew she held some feelings towards the boy, but she wouldn't let him know that, for the sake of her pride.

"Well, I should be going now, I came for what I needed and seeing as you're not going to budge" she sighed, seeing as her attempts were futile, walking around the boy, Devra grabbed her things, exiting the library, she knew he was watching her, he always did.

On the walk back to her dorm, she got mixed up in her thoughts, it's not like she didn't like him, it's just that she didn't want to possibly involve him in her personal affairs but oh, if only she knew what type of person Tom really was, but she didn't, because he made sure to not let her see that side of him ,no, she couldn't.

"Devra? Where have you been?" Asked Marisol, the girl was painting her nails a different shade of pink. Harriette laid, sprawled out on the carpet floor. "The library" her short reply made Harriette groan. "Oh, come on! Rosier told me you were with Riddle" she sat up on her elbows. "It was nothing really-","you can't tell us you don't hold any kind of affection for him" Marisol looked at her with a raised eyebrow. "We're nothing more than acquaintances-" she got cut off once again, this time by Harriette. "Devra Monroe Channing" she sighed, falling on her bed, "okay, I might harbor some feelings" the two girls squealed at their friend's confession. "But it doesn't matter, my father wouldn't approve anyways " she said softly, curling up on her bed. Her two dorm mates looked at her sadly, they had some sort of knowledge on what her home life was like, but she never gave them the details only explaining vaguely.

Late at night, she tossed and turned but she still couldn't sleep, groaning in annoyance, she got up from her bed. Devra grabbed her wand from her dresser, wanting to go on a midnight stroll instead.

Walking along the dark corridors, she whispered a quick spell "Lumos Maxima...", the castle was silent which unnerved her more than it should have. Walking along the corridors, she heard footsteps, making her turn the other direction, she didn't feel like having detention during her last year at Hogwarts. "Devra, is that you?" Coming to a holt, she turned around sighing, "Riddle" she said boredly, "what are you doing up so late?" He raised his eyebrow, "could ask you the same thing" she countered, walking closer. "I was just finishing up on my prefect rounds", "oh, I suppose you're going to give me detention now that you've caught me?" he looked at her, thinking for a moment. "Not unless you let me a company you to Hogsmeade next weekend" she stared at him as if he's lost his marbles. "Have you lost it? You know I'm not allowed to go out of grounds" she recalled the incident which ended in her allowance to go to Hogsmeade on weekends had been revoked.

Flashback:

Devra sat alone on the far end of the Ravenclaw table as she read through her book, unfortunately for her, she was interrupted by a snarky Slytherin girl, who thought it was funny if she threw water on the girl. She stood up from her seat absolutely seething, she wasn't angry that she'd gotten wet, she was angry that her book was now drenched in water, "you bloody wench" she tackled the girl to the floor.

The Slytherin girl was sent to the hospital wing, having suffered a broken arm and slugs falling from her nose, the headmaster was about ready to expel Devra out of rage but was stopped by Dumbledore who instead insisted that she get her Hogsmeade privileges be revoked.

She didn't question it, knowing the true reason why he proposed such a punishment, it was just another precaution.

Flashback end

Tom nodded, knowingly. "Oh well, get back to your dorm then" she hesitated. "Before I change my mind ". The boy watched her retreating figure. 'Soon...'
