When Arthur's dad got to the hospital he was pronounced dead. Arthur didn't know if he dad was ok. He had to get a ride home from the golf coach. When he got home his mom wasn't there. He thought that she was at the hospital still. He went up to his room and sat there. He didn't know what to think. His mind was all over the place. He eventually fell asleep at a early hour. He woke up to a knock at the door. He got up and went to see who it was. It was his aunt Jody. Aunt Jody sat Arthur on the couch and told him about his dad. Arthur started crying. His life was ruined. His idol. Motivation. Father was gone. He ran up to his room and grabbed his golf clubs. He brought them outside. He started practicing. His mom came home and saw him. Aunt Jody was still there. Arthur's mom was going to check on Arthur when Aunt Jody said, "Let him be. Let him practice. He's trying to stay strong ." Arthur didn't come inside until 2 am that night. He slept on the couch so he wouldn't wake his mom. Arthur didn't have to go to school that day. He wanted to so he could practice the sport he loved, Golf. Everybody at school was congratulated him on his win yesterday. He still didn't care about the win. He cared about his dad. Around 1 pm, Arthur got called to the Counselors Office. Mrs. Osborne was her name. She asked Arthur, "Do you want to talk about your dad." Arthur responded with a easy, "Yes." Arthur told Mrs. Osborne about his dad. She didn't say a word until he was done. Mrs. Osborne told Arthur something he would never forget, "Your dad will always be with you. He is always cheering you on to push forward." Arthur took this and was more motivated than ever before. He always practiced during any free time he had. One day after he just won another match he saw these girls looking at him. He started walking over to them and starting talking with them. He looked around at the girls in the group. Then he saw her. A girl named Elle. Suddenly the bell rang and they all had to get to class. Arthur started walking towards class when Elle stopped him. She gave Arthur he number and said, "Call me sometime." Arthur got a girls number for the first time. He was 14 when he got Elle's number. He didn't know what to do. Call her tonight. Wait a couple days. He decided to talk to his friend Jeff. Jeff told him to call her tonight so you can get to know her. Arthur did just that. He found out that Elle was a golfer like him. He had super good grade. Nothing below an A-. Elle invited him to a round of golf at her fathers country club. Arthur accepted the invitation.
