One of the longest chapter's I've written..Enjoy!
The next few weeks were spent in a blissful haze. Murtasim and Meerab grew closer with each passing day.
Having apartments just a floor apart worked in their favor. They spent time together whenever their work didn't demand all their attention. Their bond deepened with each shared meal, late-night conversation and of course Murtasim's flirty texts.
As summer began to wane, giving way to the imminent arrival of the rainy season, Murtasim and Meerab found solace in the changing weather. The gentle patter of raindrops against the windowpane became a soothing soundtrack to their quiet moments together.
As they kept their relationship to themselves, they found unique ways to enjoy their connection without drawing attention.
Wrapped in the warmth of each other's embrace, they would often retreat to the comfort of the cozy living room, the soft glow of candlelight casting dancing shadows against the walls. Wrapped in a cozy blanket, Meerab would rest her head on Murtasim's shoulder. With a cup of hot tea cradled in their hands, they would lose themselves in whispered conversations, basking in the simple pleasure of being together. They'd talk about their dreams for the future, whispering secrets, and making promises under the moonlight. With the city's lights twinkling around them, they felt like the only two people in the world.
Then came the moment that marked a new chapter in their relationship. One evening, after another beautiful day spent together, Meerab invited Murtasim over under the guise of fixing something in her apartment. As Murtasim tinkered with the supposedly broken lamp, Meerab gathered her courage.
"Murtasim," she began, her voice trembling slightly. He looked up, noticing the seriousness in her eyes. The room seemed to quiet, the air charged with unspoken emotion. "I wanted to give you this." She extended the key towards him, her hand shaking ever so slightly. The key to her apartment.
Murtasim's eyes widened with surprise and then softened with understanding. He took the key gently, his fingers brushing against hers. "Meerab, are you sure?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper. The air between them seemed to shimmer with the weight of the moment.
Meerab nodded, a mix of determination and vulnerability in her gaze.
To Meerab, giving the key to Murtasim felt like letting down walls she didn't even know she had built. It was an act of pure love and trust, a tangible declaration of her feelings. She felt a wave of relief and warmth spread through her as she saw the emotion in his eyes.
Murtasim's eyes shone with emotion, but he decided to lighten the moment with a playful grin. "Well, I guess this means you can't get rid of me now," he teased, holding up the key. "I might just pop in at any time to steal you away."
Meerab chuckled, the tension easing away. "As if you weren't already doing that," she replied with a playful glint in her eyes.
He chuckled, capturing her hand in his. "True, but now it's official. I even have a key to prove it. Maybe I'll even start leaving my stuff around, claim some territory."
"Oh really?" Meerab raised an eyebrow, trying to suppress her smile. "And what makes you think I'll tolerate your mess?"
Murtasim leaned in, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "I'll keep my mess confined to a corner, promise. Besides, you already tolerate me, and that's a much bigger deal."
She rolled her eyes but couldn't help but smile brightly. "You're impossible."
He pulled her closer, wrapping his arms around her waist. "And you love it," he murmured softly, their faces inches apart. "Admit it, Meerab. You can't resist my charm."
