CHAPTER♡ 2 - Cross

Dream sat there on his bed...

Did they really say that about him?
Is He the problem of them falling down?
He didn't know what to believe now,
to believe that they still actually care about him or they're justing lying in his face saying that He's their "friend"

*KNOCK KNOCK*

"Dream? It's me, Cross"

Dream stared at the door

Why is Cross here?
Shouldn't He be at his brother's palace?
Never less Dream opened the door for Cross

"Cross? I—What are you doing here?"
Dream asked

"Well I—uh saw Ink and Swap fighting Killer and Murder ( Cross was spectating ) but I didn't
See you there and..usually you would be there.

Dream looked at Cross
He was looking for him?
But...why would He?

"But why would you be looking for......Me?"
Dream asked once more

Cross looked away as if He did know why He did

Both became silence until—

"Hey, Dream you don't look good, are you okay?"
Cross asked

"Huh-? Oh yeah i'm okay"
Dream replied

"Dream...tell me the truth, are you actually okay"
Crossed once more but more sternly

Dream knew that Cross would keep asking him until he told the truth so he just gave in

"Sigh, not really i keep having these nightmares about my past and i can't but think it's my fault..."
Dream answered

Cross didn't really understand what Dream meant but He still there for the poor guardian and putted his hand on the guardian's shoulder as a way to comfort him

"Hey, Dream it's going to be okay, the past is in the past so it's okay, i'm always be here for you"

Suddenly the guardian started to cry
Hearing that some one will always be by his side was something He never heard in his 500 years of life

Cross saw what happened and gave the guardian a hug, he now knew that the guardian was going through something, He wanted to help him but didn't know how

"Hey, Let's go and walk outside maybe that will calm you down"

Cross gave a warm smile to Dream

They both went outside and walked for some time (around 14 mins)

until they saw destruction in the town

"Oh well, well, well look who we have here, our "guardian" right?"
one of the villagers yelled

"YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOUR SELF!1!1!"
Another one yelled out

"Where were you when we needed you the most!
Ink and Swap were the only ones who was at least TRY to help
but you? You did completely nothing!"
Another one yelled

Dream froze there, standing there thinking
How He could've been there helping with Ink and Swap but No
Instead He just heard some stupid things Ink and Swap said about him and decided to leave them alone,
How could he?

Cross saw the state that Dream was in...

"Hey! Can't all of you see how tried he looks and how he has bags under his eyes?
It obviously says that Dream's going through something! Let him figure out his problems
and not focus on his job for some time, will ya?"
Cross yelled

Everyone was quiet after that and just gave them looks and mocked them

"C'mon we're leaving
Dream?
Dream!
Dream c'mon we're leaving!"

The poor boy was standing there thinking how stupid He was for not protecting them
How much victims might have been killed because He wasn't there
