Chapter 2: Jor-El and the Councils of Krypton

(Later, in the Krypton Councils...)

Jor-El and the Kryptonian Science Councils watched the computer.

There was machinery humming.

Jor-El turned his head to them.

"An unpleasant duty has been masterly performed, Jor-El." The Krypton man said, as he walked and turned to Jor-El. "They have received the fate they deserved. Isolation in the Phantom Zone...an eternal living death."

"A chance for life, nonetheless. As opposed to us." Jor-El said, as he turned to them.

The Councils watched Jor-El.

"It's suicide. No, it's worse. It's genocide." Jor-El said.

"Be warned, Jor-El." The Krypton man said.

Jor-El turned to him.

"The Council has already evaluated this outlandish theory of yours. Your brother." The Krypton man said.

"My friends, you know me to be neither rash nor impulsive. I am not given to wild, unsupported statements." Jor-El said, as he walked and paused turned to them. "And I tell you that we must evacuate this planet immediately. My brother, Zor-El, was sent to my niece: Kara."

"Jor-El, you are one of Krypton's Greatest Scientists." The Krypton man said.

"Yes, but so is Vond-Ah." The Krypton another man said.

Another man pointed at a Kryptonian Council woman: Vond-Ah walk and paused to Jor-El.

"It isn't that they question your data. The facts are undeniable." Vond-Ah said.

Jor-El turned his head to Vond-Ah, smiled and walked.

"It's your conclusions we find unsupportable." Vond-Ah said.

"This planet will explode within 30 days, if not sooner." Jor-El said.

The Council turned to Jor-El talking with Vond-Ah.

"I tell you, Krypton is simply shifting its orbit." Vond-Ah said.

"Jor-El, be reasonable." The Krypton another man said.

Jor-El and Vond-Ah turned to Krypton, another man.

"My friend...I have never been otherwise." Jor-El said, as he walked, paused and placed shoulders on the Krypton another man on his shoulders. "This madness is yours."

"This discussion is terminated." The Krypton man said.

Krypton another man turned his head to him.

"The decision of the council is final." The Krypton man said.

The Krypton another man turned to Jor-El and walked back and turned around to him. The Councils walked with The Krypton man. Jor-El looked around to them.

"Any attempt by you to a create a climate of fear and panic among the populace...must be deemed by us an act of insurrection." The Krypton man said.

"You would accuse me of insurrection? Has it now become a crime to cherish life?" Jor-El said.

"You would be banished to endless imprisonment...in the Phantom Zone...the eternal void...which you yourself discovered. Will you abide by the council's decision?" The Krypton man explained.

Jor-El looking down.

"I will remain silent. Neither I, nor my wife will leave Krypton." Jor-El said.

The Krypton man got a slight smile, turned and walked away, the Krypton another man was mad and walked away. The Councils walked around and away.

There was machinery humming.

The computer was gone, the Council walked away, Jor-El angrily looked down, Jor-El had failed the Councils...
