Bill

I awoke the next morning and looked at the clock on the wall: 9:42.

I looked over at Stan who was about a metre away from me. I admired the way he looked when he slept.
"So cute," I muttered quietly to myself.

After a couple of minutes I decided to get up. I exited the basement and made myself a bowl of cereal. I leaned against the kitchen counter as I ate, zoning out.

I thought about my crush on Stan, trying to figure out what would happen between us. Does he like me back? Would he have kissed me last night? Will we get together? Will he end up not liking me back and I'll have to keep on crushing on him forever?

God, I hope that last one won't end up being true.

Stan

I woke up and the first thing I noticed was that Bill wasn't there. Strange. I furrowed my brows and got up, making my way upstairs.

I found him in the kitchen with a bowl of cereal in his hand. He seemed deep in thought.

I cleared my throat, breaking him from his trance.
"You okay?" I asked.
"Y-y-yeah."
I just nodded.

We stood there in silence for a solid ten seconds when he asked:
"Want some c-cereal?"
I shrugged and nodded.

He poured cereal and milk in a bowl and gave it to me. I smiled and took it. I went and stood next to him as we ate in a comfortable silence. Eventually, one by one, the others got up and joined us.

Eddie

After everyone ate, Richie came up to me.
"Hey, so I scored two tickets to that new ice cream place that opened up on Main Street... do you wanna come with me?" He asked.

Oh my god. I was internally screaming. I felt like I was about to burst.
"Yeah, that would be great," I replied, trying to play it cool.

"Okay. I'll meet you there tomorrow at eleven," he said happily.
I nodded and leaned against the counter for support so I wouldn't collapse right then and there.

The idea of having ice cream alone with Richie made me feel dizzy and my knees to go weak. He walked away and I stood there, my mind racing.

Richie

I smiled at Eddie and walked away. I can't wait for tomorrow. It was totally nerve wracking to ask if he wanted to come with me because I was absolutely terrified he would say no.

When he said yes I felt like I was on cloud nine. When I walked away I had to sit down at the table because I was so giddy with delight.

I actually started thinking about what I was going to wear, and I never care about that stuff. I usually just throw something on but I felt that tomorrow was going to be special.

Especially after our almost-kiss last night. Who knows what could happen?

I kept glancing at Eddie who glanced back every now and again. I smiled. I couldn't help it. Eddie makes me smile. I should add that to my mental list of '10,000 reasons why I love Eddie.'

Ben

Me and Bev were sitting at the table together, chatting.
"So, how are you liking that mystery book?" I asked.
"It's good," she replied. "Nostalgic."

I laughed. After we checked that book out the school library a while back, I gave it to Bev to read. You know, so she could reflect on her childhood memories.

"So how many mystery books have you read?" I questioned.
"Not many," she answered, thinking. "You?"
"A few."

"Oh yeah, right. You prefer history don't you?" She said.
"Guilty."
We both chuckled again.

Bev

We both chuckled. This was nice. It feels good to just sit down and talk to Ben, try and get to know him better.

"I've been meaning to read more books," I said.
"I know what it feels like. Sometimes you just can't find the time to sit down with a good book and read, let everything around you disappear," Ben replied.

He seemed really interested in reading. It was sweet.
"Thanks. If I ever need book advice I know where to go," I joked.
We both laughed.

Eventually, it was time to go home. I parted ways with Ben and the others and made my journey home, thinking about Ben and his love of books the whole way.
