SO APPARENTLY YOU got fired from your job as a reporter, unfortunately. but who cares? you didn't need that job anyway, you were just happy to be around kenji again.
You sit in kenji's room with your head lowered, breathing a heavy sigh. All the news headlines were of you beating up mimiko, most of the workers in the reporters room were cheering for you actually-- meanwhile some others had to stop the fight.
Least to say she had gone to the hospital for a few weeks, leaving her with a bunch of bandages needed for her face. you so badly wanted to control yourself, you felt so stupid, but you won't apologize for beating her up.
"I'm sorry dad, mom." You say in a shaky voice, tears spilling down your eyes as you stared down at your lap, "I messed up again."
"You know.." a voice comes from behind you, "when I'm sad or angry, I play baseball to cheer myself up. you..wanna join?"
"Kenji! oh, I'm sorry." You say as you quickly turned around. "baseball? yeah, yeah, I'm down."
Kenji gives you a gentle smile as he grabs your wrist, pulling you with him.

"Nuh uh, elbows up- yeah! like that!" You smiled as you spoke to the young kaiju. "See what ken's doing? yep. get ready, he's gonna throw the ball to you, okay?"
"Alright, here it comes." Kenji says next to you, throwing the ball at the young kaiju-- but it just hits her right in the face.
She begins to cry, you and kenji quickly panic.
"No! No, no, no, no." Kenji says. "Hey, it's okay. It's okay."
The baby kaiju stoops her feet as she continues crying, "hey, hey, it's okay. It happens sometimes. you just gotta work at it! like with me? my mom used to teach me how to ride my bike and I'd fall multiple times, but in the end I learned."
The baby kaiju sniffles as she listens to you, wiping her tears away. you give her a soft smile to reassure her, kenji seemed mesmerized by the way you were able to handle her and reassure her.
Kenji breaks out of his trance as he turns back to the baby kaiju. "Now get ready and keep your eye on the ball. Ichi, ni, san, ball." he says.
The ball comes in contact with the bat and you watch as it disappears somewhere, you immediately cheered. "YES! DID YOU SEE THAT?"
"I SAW!" Kenji cheers excitedly.
"SHE DID IT!" You say.
"SHE DID!" The both of you wrap each other in a hug, he twirls you around in his arms as your legs were wrapped around his waist.
When you realize how close the both of you were, you felt this weird feeling in your chest before shaking your head and just smiling again.
This time, you decided not to push your feelings away.
"Oh! that's right, we gotta run bases, c'mon!" You grab the baby kaiju's larger hands in yours and both of you headed forwards the base.
"KEN, KEN! look, she did it!" You say excitedly and jumped up and down, the baby kaiju squeals excitedly and follows your movements.

You decided to stray behind and watch the young kaiju, a slight frown on your lips as you watch kenji check his watch, right..you couldn't do anymore interviews with him since you lost your job, so Ami was supposed to take your spot.
She was reluctant to do so but you told her it was fine, another sigh escapes you as you sat down on the floor.
"Guess it's just us, huh?" You say with a raised brow, glancing at the baby kaiju, she coos in her sleep as you gave a soft smile.
"I'd probably make a good mom one day." You whispered to yourself.
Maybe you could sleep for one second..? yeah, one second. It won't be long.
