"Mika-nee, you have a letter from the Inumaki clan."
I raised my head and accepted it. I opened the envelope and pulled the letter out. "What do you think it is this time, Gumi?" He pursed his lips and frowned. I patted the seat next to me, and he sat down.
"Where's Tsumiki?"
"She's in her room, working on a project. She seems focused."
"Alright, let's not disturb her." He nodded, and I read the letter from the middle. "A gathering?" I read it from the top. Greetings, apologies for the disturbance, and now the letter's purpose. "I was wondering if you wouldn't mind coming to the annual gatherings of sorcerer clans."
"Gathering?"
"Satoru did say his parents kept talking about gatherings." I continued reading, "Meeting other members of higher-ranked sorcerer clans and leaving a good impression will increase your chances of getting those documents you want."
"What documents?"
"Sensitive information."
"Oh. Okay." He didn't press, "Are you going then?"
"I might. - If you want to go, it will be held on April 27 at the Zen'in estate." The Zen'in? "Last year, it was held at the Kamo estate. It's their turn. Next year, it'll be the Gojo clan. It won't be just the top three sorcerer clans. Minor and other clans will join if they wish to." It's more like they have no choice.
"The gathering is to get members to mingle and create good relationships. Though, admittedly, some are for more intimate relationships, and rarely, to see what they would be up against if a fight ever broke out."
Megumi scoffed.
"Somehow, I think it's the other way around."
Megumi leaned on me, "What about you and Gojo? Isn't it risky for you to go there?"
"It's only risky if he tries to get too touchy." He grumbled. "It's not uncommon for him to be clingy to me or people he's emotionally close to, but I'll remind him - IF I do go." I don't want to deal with the Zen'in douches.
"What are you going to wear?"
I hummed and skimmed through the rest of the letter.
"P. S. If you decide to go, wear something traditional." There's our answer, "There you have it." I sighed and leaned back, "I'm having second thoughts." And I don't want to dress up, wearing kimonos is tiring. Unless...
"I'll go."
"Do you own a kimono?"
"No, I own something better." I chuckled, and it was a great idea. "Something infinitely better." Megumi raised his head, "It's kinda exciting." He frowned. "You'll see it when I wear it." He deadpanned, "I think it's a perfect choice."
"I wouldn't know. I have no idea." I laughed and ruffled his hair. "How are you, Mika-nee?"
"I'm... fine."
It's been a couple of weeks since Hina and Suna cut ties with me. It still hurt when they did. Even if I am a psychopath, it doesn't mean I'm completely heartless. I remind myself that it's for the best.
"What if they contact you in the future?"
"It depends on the circumstance."
"Like what?"
I shrugged, "I'm not sure yet, but I doubt they'll return." After all, no one sane wants to be associated with a murderer. "Anyway, what about you? Do you have projects?" He shook his head. "Homework?"
