I wake up to the sun shining through the window and the birds chirping. I get out of bed and go shower. When I get out of the shower I grab a towel and dry myself off and blow dry my hair.
I walk over to my closet and choose out some skinny jeans, a white cami and a red flannel.
I go and flop onto my bed and start scrolling through Instagram on my phone when I realize how hot it is in my room.
I decide to go onto the balcony for a little bit to cool off. I bring my guitar so I have something to do.
I grab my guitar and start strumming to 'Lego House' by Ed Sheeran. I love all of his songs but this is one of my favourites.
Before I know it, I'm singing my heart out. Good thing I'm home alone or else someone would get mad. Like seriousl- my thoughts get interrupted when I hear another voice singing along. I suddenly stop singing and realize that there is a boy on the balcony next to mine. He looks around my age- and that voice, oh my lord he sounds like an angel<3. And I have to say, he's pretty cute.
He stops singing and says "Hi, I'm Shawn," he smiles. "I'm Emma, you have an amazing voice,"
"Thanks, but not nearly as good as you,"
I blush an look down "Thanks,"
Shawn speaks up and says "Hey look! We're matching haha."
I look down to see that were wearing almost the exact same thing. He's wearing jeans, a black v-neck and a red flannel.
"Oh yeah, haha that's weird..." I say.
"I was just about to go to Tim's (tim hortons, not a person named Tim lol) to get something to eat, do you maybe want to come with me?" Shawn asked.
"Yeah, sure. I'll meet you out front in a minute," I said and smiled.
I walked back into my room and couldn't stop smiling. He actually wanted to hang out with me!! Nobody ever used to want to when I lived in Alberta. I only had two friends. I was always bullied and I was known as the quiet girl who self harms and nobody likes. Maybe moving here wasn't going to turn out so bad after all.
