Genevieve tightly clenched her books close to her chest, nervous as she explored all the club tables around the school courtyard. It was Club rush, the day every club passed out fliers and tried to get you to sign up for their clubs. The honor society table was crowded with ambitious freshmen looking to sign up. Almost every table was crowded with freshmen just like her, enticed by all the clubs had to offer.

Genevieve wandered through the crowds looking around at all the booths, trying to find the theater booth. "Hey you!" Someone called out amidst all of the chaos around her. Genevieve looked around confused and saw a fairly tall blonde her age looking at her from behind a booth. Genevieve pointed at herself confused if she had been calling out to her. The girl nodded and waved her over.

Genevieve awkwardly approached the booth. The girl softly smiled, "Freshman?" She asked. Genevieve faintly smiled and nodded. "Signed up for any clubs yet?"

Genevieve shook her head, "I'm just looking." The girl nodded and looked off toward all the other booths. Genevieve couldn't help but steal a brief glance and admire the blonde in front of her. She was gorgeous. Genevieve quickly looked away as the girl turned her focus back to Genevieve. She had caught a glimpse of Genevieve staring and softly smirked, "I'm Taylor." She introduced and held her hand out to Genevieve. Genevieve shyly shook her hand, "Genevieve." She replied.

"Genevieve? I love it, it's so Shakespearean." Taylor softly laughed. Genevieve was slightly taken aback, "You know Shakespeare?" She asked. "Doesn't everyone?" Taylor shrugged. "I mean people who actually pay attention in English class and like theater maybe." Genevieve softly laughed. "So which one are you?" Taylor playfully asked. "A bit of both." Genevieve replied.

"So you're definitely a nerd." Taylor joked as they both laughed. Genevieve lightly shoved her and laughed as she grew more comfortable. "Says the..." Genevieve glanced down at the table and realized it was the band club's table and laughed. "Band geek?" Genevieve laughed. Taylor rolled her eyes. "Okay we're both nerds, truce?" She replied. "I don't know I think I need something better than a truce." Genevieve teased.

"How about I buy your lunch? Is that enough?" Taylor asked. Genevieve thought about it for a minute. "I'll take it but I'm not accepting it as a full apology." She joked. Taylor playfully rolled her eyes and grabbed her backpack. "Come on." She smiled as they walked off together toward the cafeteria.

"So you're a freshman?" Genevieve asked as the two ate their lunch. Taylor nodded as she took a sip of water. "How are you working the band club booth then?" She asked. "I've been apart of the music department during the summers so once getting to high school they just had me helping out for club rush." Taylor replied.

"But going back to you and why you looked like a lost puppy out there." Taylor joked as they laughed, "Were you looking to join any particular club?" She asked. "Theater." Genevieve replied. "Really?" Taylor questioned. "What's so wrong with that?" Genevieve asked.

"There's nothing wrong." Taylor softly smiled as she admired Genevieve, "It's cute." She replied. Genevieve felt a warm rush to her cheeks and looked down at her lunch. "So is theater all you want to do?" Taylor asked. "I'm not sure, still have to explore more options." Genevieve replied. "You should join band." Taylor smiled. Genevieve gave Taylor a playful unamused look, "is that what this is? A ploy to get me to join your club?" She joked.

Taylor laughed, "Is it working?" She jokingly replied. "Maybe." Genevieve replied as they laughed. "But you should, I think you'd really like it." Taylor said. "I'll think about it." Genevieve replied. Taylor glanced down at her phone and saw text messages from her band friends, "I have to get back to the booth but I wish you luck on your club hunt and I'll see you around." Taylor said as she got up from the table.
