CH16: ISLAND ESCAPADE
The sun was barely rising when Soren and Thorne arrived at Zara's to pick them up. She and Zara packed all the things they needed for their trip on Soren's family's private island. The excitement in the air was palpable as she and Zara got downstairs. Thorne's silver car stood ready in the driveway, promising adventure and memories to be made this day.
"Ready for the best day ever? "Thorne asked, helping Zara put all the things in the compartment. While Soren is holding the door open as Thalia puts some things in the backseat.
"Of course, we barely slept last night." Thalia grinned.
"Thalia keeps asking me about your island, Soren, as if I already got there," Zara rants, as they really both can't sleep due to her. She questioned a lot of Zara as if she already knew all of it. But she just can't help; she's too excited for this day to happen.
Thorne and Soren just laugh out loud at Zara's, as for her, she's blushing in embarrassment.
"Let's make a lot of memories that we will never forget! "Thorne beamed as he started driving away from Zara's house.
Soren looked seriously at her. "Are you feeling okay? "
Nodding, Thalia replied, "Of course, I look forward to this day."
She picked up her medicine from her backpack and drank it. Soren's calm look suddenly became worried. "Thal—"
Zara cut him off. "She's fine, Soren. That's the everyday medication that she needs to take. Don't worry. I'm ready here." Soren and Thorne both sighed in relief upon hearing Zara's words.
"She's ready; she has an emergency kit," she added.
The drive suddenly filled with silence. Zara is sleeping in the passenger's seat while she is looking out the window, not wanting to miss every scene she saw. The scent of an ocean drew close and stronger, mingling with the salt-kissed breeze that tousled their hair.
As they arrived, a boat were waiting for them to accompany to Soren's family's private island.
"Woah, I never thought your family would really own an island, Soren." Zara sighed in excitement. Neither did she; she never thought Soren would have a private island. Yeah, they're rich, but she just thought private jets or ferries were just their things, but she underestimated Soren's family wealth.
"This was really my father's. Since their divorce, deciding who's going to own this island has been a fight. But Matt, he fights that we have a huge right in this property, so yeah, it's ours now." Soren told us a simple family background of his; she feels that she knew another page of Soren's life.
Zara, who's looking a little confused, asked again. "Matt? "
"Soren's older brother, Nicholas Matthew Anderson, 4 years gap with him," Thorne explained, short but full of answers to Zara's question. "Are you not that curious in my life, Zara?"Thorne's who sulked? Zara just replied to him with a smirk.
She's still surprised that Zara told them that she's dating Thorne. Look, they always bicker every time they get a chance to. How the hell did Thorne manage to be able to handle Zara's attitude? Even she struggles managing them, but she just gets used to it. How did Thorne get used to it that fast? Damn this man.
As the island came into view, she and Zara couldn't help but be mesmerized by how beautiful it was. The greens that surround the island were so soothing to her eyes. The cold breeze in the air made her remember her first bath at the beach when she was a kid. As soon as they docked, she and Zara jumped into the water and had some fun.
