As the hours passed, the game came to an end with UConn emerging victorious. Paige approached Eve with a radiant smile on her face.

"Hey Eve, are you feeling good?" she asked, her cheeks flushed with excitement.

"Paige, you played so well. I truly admire your basketball skills," Eve replied, feeling a bit shy.

"Oh, just my basketball skills?" Paige teased, raising an eyebrow playfully.

"What?" Eve was taken aback by the teasing remark.

"Nothing, just kidding," Paige chuckled. "But anyway, the game is over now, and the coach wants us to celebrate the championship. Would you like to join us?"

"No, Paige, it's a team celebration, and I respect that. You go ahead and enjoy, Paige," Eve replied, smiling sweetly.

"Are you sure? Well, in that case, let me drop you off at your hotel," Paige offered, her smile infectious.

"No, Paige, I can manage on my own. Thank you so much for the chance to meet you, hug you, and talk to you. It truly made me happy," Eve expressed gratefully.

"Come on, Eve, I just want you to know that your support means a lot to me. It's my pleasure, and I hope to see you again soon," Paige said, pulling Eve into a warm hug. "Goodbye, Eve. Just DM me on Instagram once you're home, okay?" With that, she rushed off to join her teammates, waving at Eve and her teammates.

Eve waved back, a smile still lingering on her face as the feelings of admiration and happiness enveloped her.

As Eve watched Paige disappear into the crowd of celebrating teammates, she couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions swirling within her. The encounter with Paige, the star basketball player, had left a lasting impression on Eve. She felt a sense of awe at Paige's talent on the court and her genuine kindness off the court.

As Eve made her way back to her hotel, she couldn't shake off the excitement of the day's events. The cheers of the crowd, the adrenaline of the game, and the unexpected interaction with Paige replayed in her mind like a highlight reel. She felt a newfound appreciation for the sport of basketball and the camaraderie it fostered among teammates and fans alike.

Once back at her hotel room, Eve settled in, still basking in the glow of the championship game As Eve scrolled through her social media, her notifications blowing up again, she saw the whole TikTok and Instagram full of her and Paige at the game earlier.

"What the f??" I was shocked seeing edits of me and Paige.

As I scrolled and scrolled, I saw an eye-catching post that said, "Paige Bueckers and Celestina Everethe Clark, are they dating?" I viewed the comments, only seeing:

"That can't be."
"They look so cute together."
"Waaaah, I wish I was her"
"We can't blame Paige, Eve is literally so stunning."
"We still don't know if they are dating or not."

I smiled, seeing the good comments and realizing that I was being shipped by my all-time crush, but sadly, she only sees me as a fan, a friend.

"But at least she hugged me? At least she talked to me, right? My dreams came true," I said to myself when suddenly a notification popped up.

Paige Bueckers followed you back.

"SHOOT! Did she?? Oh no, she told me to message her when I'm home." My heart kept beating, and a message popped in. I opened it, and it was Paige.

"Girl, now tell me, what is the meaning of all the happenings between you and Eve?" KK teased.

"Shut up, KK. Well, it was fun. She's blushing all the time; she's kinda cute," I said, smiling.

"Guys, the social media is going crazy about Paige and Eve," Nika interrupted.

"Let it be, Eve is just a fan," Paige said.

"Really?" our coach approached, and we got up quick.

"Yes, coach, she's just a fan," I said, smiling.

"Good. Remember, Paige, you're not allowed to see someone if you're still in the middle of your basketball career," my coach said to me.

"Yes, coach," I said.

"She's just a fan, and there's no way I will like her," I said to myself. With that, the party began, and suddenly, Eve popped up in my mind. Why is this happening? Why am I thinking of her?
