Scarletts POV

Today's day is never ending. Back to back meetings, some collaborative things to film with other skin guru's for the skin care brand, and that was all before lunch. After lunch I had more meetings, and a table read for a new movie I got picked up for. Now, that the table read is over I am thankfully being driven home. I know I couldn't have driven right now, I'm too tired. As much as I'm looking forward to going home, the kids and Katie are there, I'm not looking forward to the mess, or the dinner complaints. Not that Katie doesn't help, she does and she's great at everything besides cooking. but she acts like a kid as much as the kids sometimes so it takes a bit for her to stop playing and get going. But, its also why I love her so much. The house feels full, and happy hearing all the laughter she brings. It feels like a home.

So walking into an empty house feels weird. It's quiet, and semi-dark, but clean. It's spotless actually and that worries me. That means the kids haven't been home? I walk further in, and spot a card on the dining room table with the words my love written on the front in golden letters. I open the letter, and smile seeing Katie's handwriting.

My Love,
I hope your day wasn't as hectic as you described. The kids and I cooked you a meal, its in the oven. We will be back before bedtime. Take this time to relax, go read that book youve been wanting to read and have a bath. There's your favorite wine chilling in the fridge for after your bath. And don't say you have other things to work on, they can wait! Enjoy this free time and I have one rule. Don't ask Cossy what we are doing!
XoXo,
Katie and the Kids

What a thoughtful gift, peace and quiet, dinner and some relaxation and wine. But, its hard to relax when your girlfriend is sneaking around with your children. Regardless of being wary, I follow the instructions on the card to a T. Food, bath, and then wine on the couch with my book. I prop my feet on the coffee table and get into my book but in the back of my mind I cant help but wonder to Katie and the kids. I know she'll keep them safe but I don't know why it has to be a secret!

As promised, Katie arrives home just before bedtime.

"Mommy!" Cosmo runs in first and jumps right on top of me, luckily after I removed the book and wine from my lap.

"Hi, buddy!" I giggle, definitely awake now if I wasn't before. "Where have you guys been?" I ask.

"Cossy..." Katie growls.

Cosmo zips his lips and I glare at him.

"What! You can't not tell." I laugh

"It's classified information. On a need to know basis, and you don't have the clearance." Lexi laughs walking over and pecking my lips.

"How do I not make the list!" I grumble. "I'm in charge here! And last I checked Natasha still has top level clearance!"

"Not what you told me last night." Katie whispers, both kids unable to hear it. "And Natasha's dead, babe."

My eyes widen and I clear my throat, "okay, Im getting some kind of info out of one of you." I tease starting to stand up.

The two kids scatter, running and squealing. Once Im at eye-level with Katie I walk her backwards and put her against the wall. "Now, Im in charge." I put her hands above her head and kiss her lips hard.

"Mm-" Katie wiggles under the pressure of my body.

I release her and walk away quickly going to check on my children.

Katie is the one the kids actually listen to and go to bed. Well, Rose just goes to her room, on a FaceTime while Cosmo actually goes to bed. I am in bed reading, waiting for Katie to join me and I still have no idea where the three of them went, and its driving me insane.
