Making my way towards Kushida's room alone turned out to be a bit more awkward than I thought. Mainly because I didn't exactly know how to greet her when I arrived. I kept thinking in my head something witty like 'you rang' with a smirk but the more I thought about it the more I realized that was impossible for me.
It seemed that I spent my entire time thinking. I was already at her door by the time I decided what I would say to her. I gently knocked knowing she'd probably hear it and she opened the door greeting me with her adorable smile.
"Ayanokoji-kun! Come in!"
"Sorry for intruding."
"Fufu I'm the one who called you in here Ayanokoji-kun what do you mean intruding?"
"...Yeah sorry.. I'll just come in."
"...Good idea."
I walked in with my head hung low. I know I could've done much better than that.
Kushida offered to let me sit on her bed like last time but I quickly declined and sat on the floor. She followed suit by sitting on the bed and we just sat there in silence for a bit.
"...So Kushida, what did you want to discuss?"
"Aha, right! Wow so much information from Chabashira-sensei today huh?"
"Yeah.. I mean we guessed most of it anyway."
Kushida looked at me surprised. Did she forget what we talked about already?
"Ayanokoji-kun.. It was you who figured most of it out. I was only able to ask around because of your guesses..."
Ah so that's what it was.
"You give me too much credit. If it wasn't for your connections I never would've been able to piece together what I did."
"...That maybe so but still. I was wondering what you're planning to do now?"
Wait what? What I was planning to do? Don't tell me that she thinks just because I told her about some of the things in this school I was planning on doing something.
It's best to answer honestly here.
"I'm not planning to do anything honestly."
Kushida looked at me in clear surprise.
"Um.. but why Ayanokoji-kun? I mean you seem really smart. I'm sure if you took leadership then the class would follow..."
"Kushida it's not that it just-"
"Look if you need me to put in a good word I'm more than happy to!"
Kushida for some reason seemed very adamant on wanting me to do something for the class. I honestly had no intention of getting that involved in the first place.
"I'm just not really trying to do too much Kushida. I do appreciate you having my back but I don't think that I want a role like that. You understand right?"
Kushida looked at me for a bit almost trying to observe from my expression that I was telling the truth before deciding to answer.
"..Ah I understand. I'm sorry if I was being annoying about it. I.... I just want what's best for my classmates and I think you would help with that."
"No, it's okay. I know how you are Kushida and it's admirable that you're trying to do everything you can to help our class. If you have a problem that me and you can solve I'll gladly help you. It can be anything. It's just I don't want to be the center of attention with the class you know?"
"...Really? Are you saying that I can rely on you for certain things?"
What did she mean by 'certain things'? I'm hoping this isn't some type of innuendo I'm not getting.
