┗━°⌜ 呪術廻戦 ⌟°━┛

I was only three years old when my world shattered. The memories are fragments of sorrow and confusion, the only thing I can remember is that my parents were taken from me in an instant. They were my everything, their presence a shield against the darkness that enveloped my young existence. Until they weren't there anymore.

The official reports talked of a tragic accident, but now that I think about it I don't think it was an accident at all.

After their deaths, I found myself in the sterile embrace of an orphanage, surrounded by walls that seemed to echo with emptiness. Other children laughed and played, their voices like distant echoes that could never reach me. I became an observer, watching life unfold through a veil of grief and solitude. The caretakers tried their best to make me feel at "home", but I was different.

I was and in a way I still am haunted by the loss of what I can barely remember, yet feel in every fiber of my being.

It was in the quiet of those lonely nights that the creature first appeared to me. Its form was nebulous, a shifting darkness that danced at the edge of my vision. I remember the first time it spoke, its voice a whispering echo that chilled me to the bone yet stirred a strange curiosity within me.

"Little one," it called, its voice like a breeze through a graveyard. "You are not like them. You can see me. Come closer, and I will show you wonders."

Fear and fascination intertwined my young mind as I tentatively approached the creature. Its form flickered and swirled, never quite solidifying—a specter of energy that only I seemed able to perceive. Despite the warnings in my head that kept yelling at me that I should run away, loneliness drove me closer to this unseen companion. A possible friend perhaps.

And just like that, days turned into weeks, and weeks into months as I forged a strange bond with the creature. It became my confidant, whispering secrets of the unseen world that coexisted with ours.

Nights were no longer spent in silent solitude; they became a dance of whispered conversations and dark revelations. The creature, while unsettling, offered me a glimpse into a reality beyond the confines of my grief-stricken existence. It became my solace and my secret, a companion in the darkness that seemed to understand the depths of my sorrow.

The months quickly turned into years and by the age of 7, the strange creature, Kurogami as I learned he was called, was some sort of a best friend for me. It had become a constant companion in the silence of the orphanage, a flickering presence that danced on the edges of my reality.

"Little one," it murmured one evening, its voice echoing through the darkness of my room. "Do you know why you can see me and others cannot?"

I sat cross-legged on my bed, peering into the shadows where its form swirled like smoke. "No," I whispered back, my voice barely audible in the stillness.

The creature seemed to contemplate his following words, its nebulous shape pulsating with unseen energy. "You possess a gift, Reina. A gift to perceive the unseen world, where curses lurk and sorcerers wield power beyond imagination. Normal people are blind to this reality, but not you."

I frowned, trying to grasp the meaning behind its words. "Curses? Sorcerers?" The concepts were foreign to my young mind, yet they stirred a curious excitement within me, his words seemed to come out of a dark fairytale.

"Yes, Reina," it continued, its voice taking on a tone of mysterious allure. "Curses are beings of malevolent energy, born from the darkest depths of human suffering. They hide in plain sight, unseen by most, feeding on the fear and despair of those they encounter."

I leaned forward, captivated by the creature's words. "And sorcerers? Are they like wizards in the stories?" I asked excitedly looking briefly at the small shelf beside my bed where a few books where scattered.

The creature hesitated, its form shimmering as if unsure how to explain. "Sorcerers are humans who wield cursed energy, using it to combat curses and protect the ignorant masses. Some see them as heroes, while others fear their power."

A smile tugged at my lips as I envisioned myself in robes, casting spells like Hermione Granger. "I want to be a sorcerer," I declared innocently, more to myself than to him.

He seemed to sense my enthusiasm, its presence pulsating in the room sending a few ripples of energy through the air. "Of course you do, but you must be careful of what you wish for," it murmured, "to be a sorcerer is to walk a path fraught with danger and darkness."

He then passed the following nights showing me how to sense the ebb and flow of cursed energy, teaching me to distinguish between the benign and the malevolent.

"Remember little one, there is much in this world that normal people cannot see. Curses are not to be trifled with—they are manifestations of human suffering, twisted and vengeful."

"Kurogami," I then whispered, my voice filled with childish curiosity, "if curses are bad, why aren't you?"

The creature's form flickered in the dim light, swirling with an otherworldly energy. It seemed to consider my question for a moment, its voice echoing softly in the stillness of my room. It finally replied, a hint of amusement coloring its tone, "The world is not as black and white as it may seem. Curses, like all beings, are shaped by their desires and circumstances."

I frowned, trying to grasp its cryptic answer too complicated for my brain at the time. "But you're not evil, are you?"

It chuckled softly, a sound that sent shivers down my spine yet held a strange comfort. "Evil is a concept created by humans to make sense of the unknown," it explained. "I am merely a product of existence, much like you. Whether I am good or bad depends on how I am perceived."

I nodded slowly, still unsure but too enthralled by the creature's teachings to dwell on its enigmatic response. "Will I become like you one day?" I asked eagerly, my thoughts already drifting to the imagined future of wielding power and battling curses.

The creature's form shimmered with a mixture of pride and caution. "Perhaps," it murmured, "if you continue to walk this path, you may find yourself amidst the swirling currents of cursed energy, shaping your fate as it shapes mine."

With those words, my mind raced with visions of adventures and mysteries yet to be uncovered. The doubts that had briefly clouded my thoughts faded into the background as I clung to the dream of becoming a sorcerer.

After that night, my conversations with the creature became less frequent, yet its presence remained a constant in my life—a silent guardian in the shadows, guiding me toward a destiny I could only begin to imagine.

And so, with each passing day, my resolve grew stronger, fueled by the stories of heroes and the promise of a future where I would walk among sorcerers, my heart filled with courage and determination.

Little did I know then, that my journey had only just begun.
