Seizing the opportunity, she attempted to enlist Manav's assistance, her sugary words dripping with insincerity. "Dr. Manav, Can you do me a favor, actually my car has gone for servicing and as we live nearby I thought if you can drop me?"
Uninterested in the exchange, Nitya kept her gaze lowered, her mind preoccupied with her own thoughts.
Manav, however, gracefully declined the request, citing prior commitments with Nitya. "Sorry, Dr. Mansi. I and Nitya have to go to a gala party tonight , but I'll ask my driver to pick and drop you"
Shocked by his unexpected response, Nitya finally lifted her gaze, her expression a mix of confusion and surprise. As Dr. Mansi stormed out in a fit of jealousy, not before thanking him.
Manav and Nitya exchanged a brief yet meaningful glance, Manav's smile aimed at easing her evident confusion. He proceeded to inform her about the upcoming party, casually mentioning that she would be his companion for the event. Nitya, taken aback by this unexpected invitation, sought clarification,"All staff members would be attending it?"
Manav replied, "Nitya, they've invited me, and I'm taking you with me."

She replied, "Sorry, Dr. Singhania, I can't come along."
Manav, determined, explained, "Nitya, it's not just you. I'm taking all the doctors I think are capable and who are working on the upcoming project with me."
Nitya felt a bit at ease thinking about it, and finally said, "Alright, I'll join. Let me know the details."
As she rose from her seat and walked towards the door, Manav's voice stopped her in her tracks. "8 pm tonight. I'm picking you up. Be ready."
She was about to protest, saying she could come on her own since making an appearance together at the party seemed weird to her, but she only managed, "But..."
Manav cut her off mid-sentence, "No ifs or buts, Nitya."
