Natasha's P.O.V
Images of Widows around the world popped up on the projected screen, flickering from one to the next, each being downloaded on the flash drive. Natasha tapped her fingers on the desk while she waited, anxious to get out of the room.
She hated the Red Room. Of course, it made sense, considering everything they'd done to her, Yelena, and countless other innocent young women. She hated just standing in the room, itching to run. But she needed to file first, needed to free them. So, she ignored her instincts and waited.
The Widows looked too young to a part of something like this... then again, all Widows were. Natasha's mind flashed back to Yelena, when the Red Room had taken them. If she could have spared Yelena from it, she would have. She should have tried harder.
Natasha would never forget how much she owed Clint for getting her out. She'd found more than her rescuer; she'd found her best friend. No matter what he said, she owed him everything. She could never repay what he had done for her.
The file was almost finished downloading, and she gripped the drive, ready to pull it out and run. But she froze as a face was projected on the screen. No. It wasn't possible. But she was there. It was her.
"No, Wanda..." Natasha murmured, staring at the image. "She-she would have told me."
She could have helped her. Why hadn't Wanda told her? She knew Natasha had survived the Red Room. Why... unless Wanda wasn't free of its control?
Natsha shook my head, yanked out the drive, and ran.
A/N: Ok I know that was short, but it was like a prologue thingy.... the next chapters will be longer and better, I promise.
