Ceddik & Citrine

He despised sleeping here, the Lord's quarters were overwhelmingly barren and decrepit. After all, everything depicting his father was hastily removed after-

Don't think about that now, Ceddik.

The young Lord sat up, letting the cold, rough blankets pool around his waist. His purple silk pajamas statically clinging to his body, white hair tossed about. He exhaled, time get up, got to get some work done today.

Sliding out of bed, a yawn escaped him, cool, crisp air filling his lungs. His wings stretched as he walked, the cold wooden floors sending shockwaves through the bottoms of his feet. A knocked startled him, snapping him awake.

"W-Who is it?"

"Uh, Citrine my Lord."

Ceddik sighed, rubbing his eyes. "You may enter, Citrine." His Gargoyle entered, claws tapping across the floor, shutting the large, wooden door behind him. Quietly.

"I came to check on you, it's past daybreak."

"I know, Citrine." Ceddik strode towards his closet, opting to open the doors and search for his clothes for the day whilst they spoke. "Sleeping here isn't the most comfortable, as you know."

"I'm aware, Lord Ceddik." Citrine approached, assisting his Lord with disrobing. Citrine chuckled as he tossed his pajama shirt away, "After all, it's not like you complain about this room and its bed whenever you get the chance."

"Can you blame me?" Ceddik slipped on a blue button up, "If I had the choice, I'd sleep in my old room."

Citrine smiled, "I know, my Lord." He reached out to Ceddik's arms.

Ceddik eyed him with a raised eyebrow, "Citrine, I can dress myself. You don't need to help me."

"I know, I know. I just like to help, Lord Ceddik."

Ceddik sighed, focused on buttoning his shirt. "I understand, Citrine. But at least ask me before you help me, I don't need you startling me with you hands coming from nowhere."

"Apologies, my Lord. I'll fix my mistakes."

"Not mistakes, just instincts." He ran fingers through his hair, "Please wait outside while I finish getting ready, or, if you feel comfortable doing so, prepare some souls from the repository. I wish to dive right into work today."

Citrine cocked his head, "Are you skipping breakfast again? That isn't good for you, Lord Ceddik."

"I'll grab something on my way down, Citrine. You don't need to worry about me so much."

Citrine grunted and crossed his arms, "On the contrary, my Lord. It is my job to worry about you. I'm your Stone Guardian."

"I understand, Citrine. But try and worry a little less." Ceddik searched the closet, eventually settling on a black vest and matching black pants. He eyed Citrine, gesturing for the Stone Guardian to make his leave.

Citrine exhaled, closing his eyes to avoid rolling them. "I'll be downstairs, meet you in the repository whenever you're ready." With that, he exited. The door shutting as quiet as before.
