One by one the list depleted, every night a new murder scene it always being more gory than the last. By now the town and city had been covered by a blanket of fear and at last it was finally time to torment the final girl. (Y/N) (L/N). This was the one I was most excited for, I grabbed her file and ran my finger down the face on the picture.
"I'll see you tonight." I laughed, feeling the insanity creep through my veins.
<< Y/N POV >>
Every night. Every night there was a new murder, fear at this point had swallowed me whole. I called off of work to which my manager gave me a week considering I was one of their best employees that was the most I'd get. My mom had pretty much barricaded me indoors to the point where I think she's more scared of my life than hers. Stirling and I have been texting back and forth, she told me some guy in his early twenty's sat at the diner pretty much all day today looking as if he was waiting for someone. My manager had to kick him out of the table he hogged and banished him to the coffee bar where he sat until pretty much the end of the last shift. My best friend had visited a few times over the week to check on me, she seemed nervous every time resulting in me getting ten times more nervous then I was previously. Now here I sat in my bed, back against the wall and my knees up to my chest. I convinced myself the train situation was a coincidence since nothing else had happened after but my mom and friends made my anxiety worse. My room was locked and my curtains hadn't been pulled back since the day after the first crime happened, I slept with my pepper spray in my hands which I held onto tightly at the moment. My mom was gone for a few hours helping set up a nearby family friends house, I tiptoed out of my room and down the stairs ransacking my pantry for snacks.
"Of course we're nearly out of food." I growled, my pantry was damn near empty. I contemplated for a while before deciding to grab my keys from that ugly ass bowl I made and ran out my front door, closing and locking the door behind me.
I successfully made it to the local convenience store, the poor teenager who had to work here tonight did not look like he wanted to be here which I don't blame him, there has been a total of nine murders. As I pushed the door open the kid flinched and I stared at him for a second before making my way to the back of the store towards all the snacks. My hands grabbed for a bag of candy, and then my favorite chips, I peeked around the corner then walked over to the drinks where I stood for a moment studying what drink to get before deciding to grab my favorite one. This should be good, I slowly made my way to the cash register keeping my eye open for anymore food that caught my eye. As I set the things I picked on the counter my hand reached for my hoodie pocket as I grasped onto my wallet and slid it out, the teenage boy started scanning my things as he eyed me carefully.
