It's not like I planned to jump off that bridge. It just happened, okay? Don't judge me. They just pushed me so far, you know? I'm sure most of you do.
Hi, I'm Alex, and I'm coming out.
I'm a ghost.

"Oh just jump already you twit." Kaci said in a snarky voice. "Everyone would be better off without you."
I was hanging on the edge of the high suspended bridge that stood above a vast landscape of gray rocks and a large, fast-paced river.
I was fed up with all the bullying that comes with being a homosexual teen girl. It doesn't help that having plain looks also makes you more susceptible to a bully's wrath, which I have. Plain old mousy brown hair, green eyes, pale skin, a smattering of freckles, and on the thicker side. Just Alex, the quiet girl you see sitting in the corner of your chemistry class that you notice one day and then easily forget about immediately afterward.
Except Kaci noticed me in 5th grade, and then we were friends. She used to be just as mousy(except blonde) as I, but then she changed. In freshman year she lost a lot of weight, going from a size 12 to a size 3 in just a few months. And she ditched the glasses for contacts, then she started pulling her hair back and caked on makeup. Now she's considered the most beautiful girl in school. And I'm still just Alex.
A few months ago though, Kaci started telling people that I had been staring at her in the girl's locker room, and it started an uproar at our small school of just 500 students. Girls looked at me funny in the locker room and actually anywhere on campus. They started calling me names, throwing stuff at me and egging on girls to fight me. In fact last week a group of girls attacked me and slammed my face into the black asphalt under me, kicked me in the stomach, and pulled my hair.
I was sick of dealing with this torture.
So I jumped.

So that was a few months ago. I died, I was even in the morgue and then I woke up. And no, not like in my body as a zombie, I woke up next to it. I saw all the gore. My face smashed in, bruising skin and blood everywhere. Eesh, it was disgusting.
Except that actually wasn't the weird part. What was weird was that I looked almost like my body except my head wasn't TOTALLY smashed in. And then something even weirder happened. My body started disappearing, and then it was just gone. After that I got this really weird feeling, something was telling me to lay down on that table where my body had just been laying.
"So, Greg, what do you think of that new nurse, eh?" a males deep, scratchy voice said. "Ain't she mighty fine huh?"
I scrambled to lay on the cold, stainless steel surface of the sturdy table. My left hand lay flat on the table as I tried to reach up with my short legs to pull myself up. My leg hit the edge of it, and so I put up my right hand to grab a hold of the other side. My hand slipped as I pulled myself up and I tumbled to the floor.
"Did you hear that Marty?" Possibly Greg said. There was a rustling of scrubs hurriedly moving together as the two men rushed down the hall.
"Shit," I whispered to myself.
My head started to throb and my legs started wobbling as I stood. I looked down and realized that they were bent awkwardly, also my left shoulder was out of place. "Frick!" I whisper screamed as the pain shot right into my heart.
As the morgue-nurse-men (or whatever you want to call them) rushed in I had just laid down on the chilly surface. "Oh thank God. I thought someone had sneaked in here and messed with the bodies like that chick in American Horror Story did." Possibly Greg sighed in relief.
"You watch that? Isn't that for like teenagers?" Supposed Marty questioned.
"Ye-,"Possibly Greg started before he was, I think, hit in the stomach because he started gasping like a fish out of water. "Do you see that Greg?!"
"Wha-," Possibly Greg stopped, I felt pins and needles stab into the top of my head as they stared at me.
"Oh my God. Greg, get the doctor! She's breathing! She's alive!" One of the two men yelled as my eyes flew open, my pupils struggling to adjust to the fluorescent lighting again.
I lifted my hand to my eyes, in hopes of sheltering them from the brightness, but was greeted instead with a very loud, "Ms. Reed! Are you OK?! Can you hear me? Ms. Reed?" Possibly Marty screamed at me, voice slowly dwindling as I put my hands to my ears to block a migraine that was coming on from all his freaking yelling.
Okay, I admit, I did snap, but what was I supposed to do? He was yelling so loudly and my head hurt!
"Yes Marty! I am alive! Jesus! Now get out of my face!" I screamed back.
Marty's eyes widened, "How did you know my name?" He inquired, talking slowly and quietly.
"Um, I heard you and Greg talking in the hall..?"
His eyes widened and his cheeks flushed in embarrassment. Well I hope I keep him as my nurse person because he seemed pretty dang emotional and I am definitely going to be emotional here pretty soon. Frick my head hurt.
I was about to ask Marty for some ibuprofen and am ice pack when another nurse came walking in with Greg staring at her derriere the entire way. As I opened my mouth to ask, arm over my eyes I was suddenly stuck with a needle.
My world narrowed on Marty's face as he kept whispering that everything would be alright. Yeah, sure.
