*Brooks Pov*
Walking in to the small cafe, my brother yelled look who's back. Once he said that, every one turned their heads towards the front of the shop. The sound of chairs scraping across the floor echoed as I was engulfed in hugs.

After hugging everyone in the store, I started to make my way up to the counter. I noticed something as I walked past a dude I believed was named David. There seemed to be a piece of skin pulled down and showing this dark black scaly skin. Taking a closer look I guess the dude noticed as he slowly turned his head towards me.

In a second what I thought was a man's skin all shed off to the floor in a heap by his feet. The beast let out a gigantic roar and every other 'person' in the cafe turned into beasts like the first one, even my own brother.

"You didn't have to do this, Brooke, you could of just continued to the counter and celebrated. But no, you had to inspect what you thought was strange?" The thing that was once my brother said.

"Who are you and what have you done to my brother?" I asked, shaking slightly.

"We did nothing; your brother died a while back. Everything you have experienced since your mother died wasn't with your own species. They had died and we took on their form and kept you living to study the way your species existed. But you have ended your own life just because you were curious. Didn't you ever hear the phrase, 'curiosity killed the cat'? I'm sorry, but goodbye, Brooke, we are the new generation; your species will be extinct after this. I'm sorry for everything that you have been through up until now, but it had to be done." the beast told me. After he had finished, I felt a gigantic blow right through my chest and I felt my consciousness slipping from existence. Right before my death I heard his whisper, "I'm Sorry."
