THE STARKS ARE the most honorable family in all of Westeros. Their promise is their life, their oath is their sword. Arrelle Stark was raised with these values in mind. Her loyalty had no business in the game of thrones, there was no honor in King's Landing. This was a lesson she had to learn the hard way.

Engaged to the future king of Westeros, the heir of Rhaenyra Targaryen, at a young age, she was taught how to protect herself by her father and brother. She was skilled with a blade, mastered the art of sleeping with one eye open, and fierce and unrelenting. No one who threatened her would come out unscathed.

Her mother taught her about King's Landing and court, the way no one spoke what they meant, the language somehow shared under their masks. Her southern tutors filled her mind with knowledge of all of the Westerosi Houses: the crests, the creeds, the traditions, the values.

In the south, there was nothing but webs of lies and deceit. Any and all were desperate for power, gluttonous with their greed. Trust had to be earned there, loyalty was never guaranteed. She was allowed to be raised in the north, under the conditions of the agreement made between her father and the king when she was only ten years old.

Starks belonged in the north, her blood was made of ice. In the north, everyone said what they meant, no time left for games. She was a wolf, born and raised, but she was also half dornish. The dornish were intelligent and powerful. The desert sands were just as fierce as the northern blizzards. Two powerful bloodlines rested within her and she would show this strength.

After her eighteenth nameday, she is sent to be married. Left to fend for herself in Kings Landing. It is through experience and pain that she began to trust her husband and his family. Eventually she understood that no harm would come to her if she stayed with the Prince.
