A story full of oddness, sadness, and indecision that, when put together, becomes something that keeps plunging into the deepest pit. The story begins with three men in their mid-twenties who plan to enter and camp in a forest that is notorious for claiming many lives. Because only to feel a new adrenaline they dare to enter the forest equipped with makeshift equipment, their fate will definitely not end well.
"Can you walk faster Jakob your body is big but your stamina is lacking," Said the grumpiest person in the group, he had the idea of camping in the forest so he acted as the leader.
Jakob with face wrinkled with fatigue and anger dared to scold him back, he approached gallantly puffing out his chest and immediately grabbed the shoulder of the pretentious leader. He continued to rant at him and then pushing him to the ground. Harsh words continued to come out of his mouth that kept spitting like a rain in the summer. The other friend who was used to saying one sentence in a thousand conversations was so fed up with the behavior of the two of them he tried to break it up but he was also tired so in the end he just sat watching the two.
"Shut your mouth Sverre it's your fault for taking us into this forest but not bringing enough water supplies, we're already deep in the forest and have no water, you bastard."
The argument continued until suddenly from the top of the small hill beside them came the sound of running steps stepping on dry leaves and an anxious scream that followed, but suddenly disappeared when the sound was very close to them. Deirdre, who had been sitting, immediately stood up and became alert. Jakob and Sverre who were arguing stopped and were shocked by what they heard.
"What the hell was that?" Said Sverre.
Feeling unsafe, Sverre told his two friends to leave immediately and find a suitable place to camp. They ran deeper into the forest chasing the light that entered between the leaves and avoiding the darkness behind them that was catching up fast until the forest seemed to want to swallow the three of them and enter into the silence of the night. As the night wore on, the stars in the sky shone only dimly, illuminating the three exhausted boys as they were led into the silence of the forest full of tall trees and occasionally heard the sound of steps that might come from the inhabitants of the forest. The sound of heavy breathing was clearly heard, the footsteps that were getting slower, the sound of metal rubbing against each other from the equipment carried, Sverre who was at the forefront looked up at the stars hoping to find a river that could be used as a place to rest and drink its water.
Deirdre who always been silent suddenly said that he saw a light crossing the trees, he then ran for chasing the light leaving both of his friend. Jakob questioned his actions and wondering how he could run despite they already walking a long track and exhausted from it. Deirdre know it's a stupid decision he made he kept running and hoped to meet someone who might be able to help them. The light led Deirdre to a field and began to fade and disappear. He looked around and saw in the middle of the field stood an old cabin with wood that looked a little porous over time. Strangely there is no grass that fills this field, only shrubs that have withered, the land around this hut is very arid, there is no good scene to be seen, there is only an empty hut that may have been left behind by its inhabitants or died in someway.
"Deirdre ... you stupid moron ...," Said Sverre with anger.
"Jakob, Sverre, look at that house over there," Deirdre said as he pointed towards the old cabin.
Sverre with his smiling face quickly told the two of his friends to go inside and rest in the cabin. Of course Jakob refused because in his mind they had to get permission before entering the porous cabin and he remembered that this forest often claimed lives so it was not appropriate to enter a mysterious building that was already standing in the middle of the forest. Sverre told Jakob not to be a coward, after all Deirdre also agreed to enter the cabin, the to of them then walked towards the cabin leaving Jakob behind because he did not want to step on the barren land. The wind tickled the ears of the cowardly Jakob who was wavering in his decision, Sverre held the doorknob and summoned his courage to open the door, Deirdre's fierce and sharp eyes that were always alert scanned the entire forest area observing the trees and crevices around it and overlooking the very dark sky where the stars disappeared and only the full moon accompanied the night.
