Forks and Birthday

"Why can't you take me with you" Bella cried, big tears flowing from her eyes as I was getting ready to travel to South America. I, Jasper and Alice had postponed our visit to Amazon so that we could celebrate Bella's 15th birthday but now that Bella had settled well and with the growing uncertainty of her existence, we couldn't delay this anymore.

His family had decided to move to Forks Washington a month ago. Carlisle and the rest of us had met the Quileute tribe and we were relieved to know that there weren't any new wolves in this generation. But still they had informed the tribe elders of their new additions. They were not so pleased about it. They were wary when we mentioned that one among us was a newborn vampire.

He looked down as Bella was still waiting for his answer. He signed "Bella love, I wish I could take you with me but it's dangerous out there" Bella bristled " I can handle danger". She said stubbornly raising her chin in defence

He let out a chuckle " I know love, but think about Esme and Carlisle, they wouldn't like the idea of you putting yourself in danger. " He pulled her into a hug and caressed her hair.
"We will be back soon, and after this I will never travel anywhere without you".
Bella looked up " You promise " He nodded kissing her forehead. "Now Bella go to sleep"
She yawned as she extracted herself from my embrace, " Will you write a letter to me, Merlin can deliver letters from anywhere."
He chuckled and shook his head " Bella I will call you on the cell phone, I believe Emmet has already bought a cell phone for you. "

Bella made a face " That small shiny box that has numerous colorful things called apes".

"They are apps, applications not apes" Emmett roared somewhere from downstairs. Bella smirked and I just laughed knowing that Bella was just pulling Emmet's leg. As Bella had inherited the vampire's perfect memory she grasped anything new quite easily. Within a week of her new life she had learnt how to use all the electronic and technical appliances.
Bella was adapting well to her new life.

" Bella, that's enough for today, go to your room, it's already well past midnight " Esme's voice floated from bella's room which was located just opposite to his own room. Bella winced " Ma, I don't want to sleep, I am not feeling that sl.... " She yawned and then blushed " Ok maybe I am little tired but I can sleep tomorrow " She said as she clutched my arm tightly

" Isabella Amelia Black Cullen, your going to say good night to your siblings and coming straight to your room, no more excuses" Esme said sternly now standing in front of my room.

Bella bit her lips and then pouted, she looked at him urging him to defend her. He signed and lifted her off her feet, carrying her towards her bedroom. He gently laid her down on the bed and pulled the blanket over her head. " Bella go to sleep, I promise I will be here when you wake up".

Bella nodded and looked at Esme " Mama, I want chocolate pancakes for breakfast " She ordered as if asking for compensation from her mother. Esme chuckled " Anything for you, my little darling" She caressed her hair as she sat on the edge of the bed and started Humming a lullaby. He signed as he made his way downstairs. He heard Bella softly whisper goodnight to everybody and smiled.

He looked around at all the balloons floating around the living room and shook his head. Bella had been very reluctant to celebrate her birthday. "It doesn't make any sense to celebrate it now, it's unnecessary" she had screamed at Alice " I will forever be 14 now, so no point in celebrating my 15th". Then Bella burst into tears. That was the first time that Bella had expressed her sadness over her immortality. It had been Rosalie who had comforted Bella understanding her pain more than anyone else in the family. Bella had slept in Rosalie's arm that day healing both herself and his sister.
