Celestial Love

Soothing sounds of your breathing
Comfort me throughout the night
Wherever it is, you're dreaming
Of - I'll meet you when I take flight.

Hours while away - Time is
but another facet
of our paper existence.

Over the moors, we made promises
Chasing each other - wildly free
Like Brontë's Catherine and Heathcliff
Our transcendent love, will last an eternity.

Years will pass - Time is
but another facet
of our paper existence.

But this frugal existence - we will eke out;
This too shall pass - it is not enough.
Our true heaven - we will seek out
Beyond the pasture and this Earth.

A celestial night-time endeavour -
Worldly concrete comforts - we'll surrender.
And with your cold translucent hand in mine
Away from this universe undivine,
our souls will ascend intertwined.

(I played this song in the background whilst writing this poem. It's a truly remarkable piece of music.)
