Alastor's POV

Lucifer looks nervous as he slips us into his room and quietly shuts the door. His hands are shaking and I doubt he realizes that.

"I don't- I hope this doesn't scare you off. Just with a few recent events and news, I have to tell you." I don't want to sound rude, but I don't think anything that comes out of his mouth will sound scary. He's like a little jelly bean. The good kind of course. Not the vomit or dirty sock type flavors.

"I swear on my soul I won't leave no matter what you tell me, dear. Okay. Relationships, of any kind, mean a lot to me. I won't ruin this one for some little thing."

"Well...it's not some little thing." He sighs. "I'mkindoftheKingofHell." I blink at him, taken back by his words.

"What?"

"I'm Lucifer Morningstar. The uh King of Hell. Please don't hate me." He looks down and plays with his fingers. I narrow my eyes and put my hand on my hip.

"I don't think I quite believe you."

"Why?"

"You're softer than a marshmallow." I start poking him playfully. He giggles. I love those giggles. "And such a cute little guy. Not the big bad demon I was told about since I was a child."

"I can show you proof! If you stop doing that!" He giggles even more.

"Okay then, dear. Show me." I stop poking him. He takes a deep breath. A white smoke then covers him then it dissolves. He doesn't look any different. Besides the outfit and his teeth are sharper. Then wings spread out from his back, six to be exact, and horns start poking out of his head. "Oh shit." I start backing away.

"Don't be afraid. I won't do anything!" The horns and the wings disappear to where they came from. "Al." He starts walking towards me. I keep backing away. He stops. "Al. I'm still the same person!"

"You're not even a person!"

"Look. I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner, but it's not like I can just say I'm the fucking devil when we first meet. I'm still the Lucifer you know and love."

"It makes sense why you wouldn't introduce yourself as the devil himself." I stop backing away. We're both terrible people. He's not even a person, though. But I'm a serial killer and he's basically the one who created the man I am today.

"I thought knowing my name is Lucifer, you'd already kind of connect the dots. Even if you didn't know my last name."

"I thought your parents just hated you."

"Okay ouch." He relaxes and looks annoyed. I raise both my hands up, like a surrender.

"My apologies. But you don't look like the King of Hell. More like a circus ringmaster."

"You're a bully." I chuckle. "But I'm not supposed to be up here. If Father finds me up here, I'll be dead. He's getting suspicious apparently now. I-I have to go back, but I don't want to leave you." His tail, which I didn't see before, wraps around his leg. He crosses his arms and holds them close to his chest. He looks down. "I couldn't leave without telling you. I know you probably hate me and you don't want anything to do with-"

"Luci." He looks up at me. "I can never hate you. I'm still...processing... all of this. But I can never hate you. Come here." He looks up at me as I spread open my arms. Joy fills his face, a face I love to see, and his tail unravels from his leg. I give a little nod and he jumps into my arms.

"Thank you. For not running away. I know this must be weird for you." He grips onto my shirt tightly. His face planted in my shoulder. I can feel a few tears on my shirt. Happy tears I presume. "I love you."

"I love you too, darling." I play with Lucifer's hair, scratching his head. He groans and gets comfortable in my arms. "I would never have thought that the devil would be a cute little man the size of a 5th grader."

"I'm not cute!" He looks at me, his arms stretched out from my chest. "I'm not cuddling with you tonight. Meanie." He pouts. He can't say he isn't cute and do that. I mean come on. You can't say it's not cute when he fake pouts. Or anything really. He's just always cute.

"Yes you will. You'll run back to me in less than a minute."

"No I won't. I'll sleep far away from you. You'll miss me and come back to me. Not the other way around."

"Sure, dear."I set Lucifer down and he transforms back to his human form. We walk out to the living room and see all the girls sleeping. Or they're faking it. Every child has pretended to sleep whenever their parent walks in. "I'll run over to my house and get me some nightwear and a pair of clothing for tomorrow."

"Okay." I run out the door, quietly shutting it, and to my house. I quickly grab what I need and leave. I quietly open his door, so I don't wake any of the children, and see Luci sitting in a blanket.

"Waiting for me?" I say with a smile.

"No." He crosses his arms and looks away. I change in his room, leaving the clothes for tomorrow on his bed. I walk back out to the living room and lay on the opposite side of the girls. Lucifer looks at me before looking away again. I roll my eyes and pretend to sleep. Less than 30 seconds later, I feel him lift up my blanket. He lays against my chest and lifts my arm to rest over him.

"Told you."

"Shut up and hold me."

"Of course, my King."
