Chapter 6 ; The Light within the Rain

Chop Chop Chop

Within the confines of a room, the sound of a knifes sharp-end hitting the cutting board echoed throughout. Within this confined space stood a woman with black hair, her eyes glimmers in dark silver.

As she cuts the vegetables into chunks, she heaves a sigh, letting her thoughts wander. ' Hiroto sure is late.... Then again, I suppose waiting for the rain to weaken is the best option. '

' Although... That dum-dum of a nephew, sure knows how to make others worry. ' She grumbled, pouting.

She entertains her thought with a chuckle as she looked at the weakened rain, preparing some meals.

Bubble Bubble

The broth boils within the pot as it stands on the stove.

Spotted by the woman who's youth showed through her figure, toned down the heat. Letting the broth rest in its own warmth.

As the broth rested withing the pot, the strong aroma spread throughout the room. Overpowering the the scent of the strengthening rain from above.

"I'm home~ " A dimmed voice echoed in her ear.

Smiling to herself, she fixed up her hair in a pony, greeting this familiar guest that lived throughout her life.

Step Step Step

Her footstep echoed throughout the hallway. Only stopping once she finally met this all too familiar guest...

"Welcome ho-" Her welcoming voice was cut off as the sound of water dripping. Yet, her eyes was caught by his dazed reaction to her arrival.

She pouted at the boy before huffing out.  " What? Can't her aunt greet her nephew back? "

This was nothing new to their life, yet under rain that has become stronger, his face showed a reaction as if it was the first time she have done this.

' Seriously, what's wrong with these youths these days ' Her thoughts grumbled as she got closer to her nephew. Who's uniform and bags are wet, only leaving the hair and face dry.

Putting her arms on her waist as she questioned with a pout.
" Where's your umbrella?! "

" Don't tell me you gave it to her instead of sharing!? " She says in shocked.

Under normal circumstances this reasonong seems farfetched. But , lately, Hiroto has been showing some interest on his friend.
Throughout her single life of having a massive crush on 2d men this was nothing new.

What's new to her though, is that fact that it's a 3d girl.

" You'll never get a girlfriend if you keep avoiding the opportunities, you know. " She says in a matter-of-fact tone, as if she was a sage of many experiences on having nonexistent romance.

Her snarky remark stood in contrast to his blank stupor. The lack of reaction that stood in contrast to hers, made her worry.

Usually, anyone that has their crush revealed would be embarrassed. Yet, under normal circumstances, he would just blush and stutter, sometimes even retorting back...

But...

This was different...

This was serious...

Her thoughts wander, as she look at him, seemingly frozen in the moment. She spoke out her thoughts. " You... Got rejected, huh... " She could only conclude.

Silence

Amidst the silence and his lack of reaction, she raised her arms wide in a welcoming embrace of comfort.
