chen xiaoli woke up with a massive headache. she vaguely recalled dying and meeting a god who called himself ROB (stupid name) and having to spin some obscure wheel to choose her new world. her spin ended the wheel on "martial peak", some chinese novel she presumed, and was given a random power from "the world she was most intrigued by", which turned out to be jujutsu kaisen, granting her the ability of "idle transfiguration".
she was most confused by this ability since she only watched up to the 7th episode before she died, thankfully, among the information the god gave her was how to use it. the god gave her basic information such as the basics of cultivation, how to survive in the wilderness, a cultivation technique, and what beasts were nearbye her starting location.
sitting down in a lotus position, she started gathering energy to temper her body, circulating it through many meridans in tandem with her breathing, as required by her cultivation method, the cursed spirit body arts.
the cursed spirit body arts are a technique to reforge ones body until one can break through to the next realm. this technique would only work for the body tempering part of cultivation, becoming useless once one reaches the next realm of cultivation. however, do not look down on this technique, for if a normal technique would make a foundation the size of a house, this technique makes a foundation the size of a world, allowing one to cultivate freely without worry of qi deviation.
after 1 hour, chen xiaoli got up. she had broken through to tempered body stage 5. walking up to a tree, she placed her hand on it and sent her qi into the depths of the tree. she began to pull and twist at the trees soul (if we assume that all beings that can attain intelligence have a soul, than literally everything that lives has a soul and can therefore be manipulated), changing its shape and turning it into a katana made of hardwood.
looking down her katana, her expression twisted into a smile. " a katana, huh" she sighed, " to think I would get to use one of these again". chen xiaoli, in her previous life, was a master swordsman, in fact, she was the best in her field, becoming world champion at the tender age of 17. her favorite weapon? the katana.
she gazed at her katana lovingly, swinging it around like her favorite toy. walking out of the clearing, she was greeted by a growl from the bushes. "grrr". she swivelled her head to the right, locking eyes with the beast. it was a brown cat the size of a car, a tier 1 beast.
instantly, her gaze turned sharp. her muscles tightened as she leapt at the creature, katana ready at her side for a horizontal strike. she slashed at the cat, unfortunately, the cat expected this and dodged. however, what the cat didn't expect was for the tree-sword to grow in length, slashing it on its neck and severing its head from its body.
chen xiaoli sighed in relief. she tried to put her katana away only to realise that she had no sheath, resulting in her looking like a chuuni teen.
walking up to a new tree, she transformed it into a sheath and collected everything useful from her hunt. turning another unfortunate tree into a bag, she decided to experiment a little. 'what would happen if I shrink a bag with something in it?' she thought, 'if it compresses everything inside, couldn't I use that in battle?'. acting upon this idea, she gently touched two trees with her hands, turning one into a small ball and the other into a bag around the ball. she made sure the bag was airtight so it would compress properly.
she immediately started shrinking the bag, watching as the bag shrunk to the size of a marble, effectively proving her theory. she opened the bag slowly, as soon as she did, the ball inside the bag sprung out and expanded to its original size before compression.
'hmm, how is this possible? shouldn't it have compressed the contents?' xiaoli wondered, 'wait a minute, is it possible that if I make it have no holes in the bag, it will compress space instead?' the more she thought about it the more possible it sounded.
'wait, what if I leave one hole? will it compress the orb instead?' this theory proved true as the compression from this experiment was permanent, leaving her with a viable attack method.
"hold on, if I use this, wouldn't I be able to make a space ring?" she voiced to herself. she then made a nearbye tree into a giant hollow donut (of wood of course) and stored her meat and leather inside it before sealing it shut. she shrunk the donut, making it the perfect size to fit around her ring finger before putting it on.
she wondered what the limit for space compression was. just think, she could have an infinite amount of items on her at all times just by using the method of having a space inside a space inside a space. if she tried hard enough, maybe she could carry all her belongings with her on her travels. she would have kept thinking about this for who knows how long, but she was interupted by her stomach growling.
taking her meat out of her pseudo-space ring, she started a small fire with animal droppings to eliminate all smoke (got that one from the Bone series). roasting her meat and eating it, she started to think about the future. what would she do about clothes? shelter? and not to mention finding civilization.
she would worry about that later, for now she had to find a place to sleep. she morphed a tree into a makeshift shelter to protect her from the winds as she gathered some dry leaves and made a small yet soft bed to sleep for the night.
